Ping i59

Based on a cryptic message on Insta, I'd expect the website to reflect the 425's on 10 Jan. 4 Feb for in-store seems about right.

Ping-logo-283444624.jpeg 410LST 9º (TourX) RogueST 3D (ADDI 6X) [OMG what?], 425 3w 14.5º (TourX), 430 3h 19º & 4 iCross (HZRDUS Red 6.0), i230 5-U, G4 54º, GFP 59º (DART105F4). 2021 Fetch (BGT Tour Black).

"Golf is just a dance with a stick, and a ball tells you how good a dancer you are."  LCP150mm in your fairway should be a full-time rule.

Yeah someone posted tentative dates for upcoming releases and this agrees with that. Then Ping putters mid-March.

Played with a Ping Rep today here in Phoenix. He could not believe the i59 pic was out there. He thinks someone inside may have leaked it. Not good he said.

They won’t be out until the summer or fall. They are still working in them. He has a set in the office and they are really nice he said.

425 stuff will be out next week.

Haha. He laughed when I asked him about the i59’s. Then he quickly said “oh yea, you are on GolWrx”. He did say they are a blade of course, but they are working hard on incorporating some forgiveness in the head. He said they are so nice looking. He plays the iBlade.

Oh, and he completely smokes his G400 Max with the Alta shaft. He shot even par with only 8 clubs in his Sunday bag. He is very excited for the 425 driver. He got giddy over that one.

I wonder if that puts them on par with the BP's in terms of difficulty to hit flush each time for mere mortals.

Mostly PING clubs, with TaylorMade woods.

If that's the case I'll be keeping my JPX919Tour's. Want something more in line with the i210, not what I'm currently gaming. Did he mention what they'll actually be replacing?

So an iBlade replacement??

I am not sure. I was just taking with him during our round yesterday. I didn’t  really ask that question. I don’t play Ping and he was trying to convert me from PXG. Lol

The reason I'm asking is because I seen on PING's trademarks section of their website, there is a iBlade 2.0 there but no i225.

They also have i510 and i525 trademarked so who knows what i500 replacement will be called.

Ahhh. Not sure. I will probably play with him again this Sunday.

These look more like a blueprint replacement

Agreed. Hope these come out so the blueprints get cheaper. I've been looking for a reasonably priced lefty set. I had a set of the S59 and the S55 back in the day. Neither worked for me but that won't stop me from blindly buying the blueprints if I find a deal.

As a reminder, we saw images of blueprints around Jan 2019, and couldn't buy them for 5 more months. It would surprise me zero if the i59 is roughly the size of the iBlade, and they "replace" both with it. They've clearly wanted to get rid of toaster-inserts.

So basically, it's real… the surprising part to me is that they haven't forced the takedown.

I was thinking the same thing...replace the tour club and better players iron  with a fully forged bigger blueprint....not sure, but maybe  you combine the i210 line with the i500 line somehow and then have two gi lines.

I highly doubt they will be replacing the Blueprint anytime soon. It was only released last year and PING don't replace clubs like every other OEM. Take the iBlade, it's been out since 2016 and they still haven't replaced it yet. But who knows.

Yea..maybe blueprint tour only or something....but if the i59 is fully forged and  only slightly bigger, then you have two clubs that are very similar. But like you said..who really knows

I doubt the it will be a fully solid forged iron. Everyone thought the i500 was gonna be full forged and it wasn't, then everyone thought the Blueprint was gonna be hollow and it wasnt haha

I'd say it's gonna be a forged face and/or body with some type of elastomer insert. They have had such success with the TPE inserts on the iBlade and i210, that I can't see them just dropping it all together. Plus, PING are known for implementing technology to increase forgiveness and just going with a solid forged iron would definately limit their options and abilities to do so.

Yea to me it's clearly an iBlade replacement. Way too soon to be the Blueprint. Also similar naming convention of the old s5_ line which the iBlade replaced, but sticking with the success and reputation of the 'i' moniker.

You are probably right...but again...a welded hollow iron makes it more like a i500...but some kind of dampening compound would make it feel much better...i just think there might be a model leaving the line up or being merged
