Give It To Me Want GIFIf these bridge the gap between my S55 and my i500, I'm going to be giddy...

Now the real wait begins....not the wait for delivery, the wait for availability to try...oh who am I kidding?  I'm buying sight unseen.

For some reason I had it in my mind that the next i-series iron was supposed to be the “end all, be all”, meaning that it would combine the best of i210, iBlade, i500, and Blueprint, and it would blow everyone’s mind. Then you’d basically have the i series for better players and the g series for game improvement. Nice and simple. I guess this could be that as we haven’t seen any marketing from Ping yet, but it sounds like the rumors are that i59 is simply an iBlade replacement, which is cool and all, as people seem to love the iBlade, and I’d give it a go, even though I’ve never hit the iBlade. But it will be hard to get me off the i200 series, As those are just a dream iron, and I’ll wait to see what that replacement looks like when it comes out. Although I do think there is too much offset in the 4 iron of i200.

I've heard that the i59 is actually a iblade AND 210 replacement. They are streamlining the products, so the new full line-up will be:

G 725 (premium price point, high handicap)

G 425 (standard price point, all handicaps)

I 525 (premium price point, mid-high handicap)

I 59 (standard price point, mid-low handicap)

Blueprint (premium price point, low handicap)

Given the popularity of the i210 I don’t see how they could not have a cast replacement for it.  That’s just my opinion as all the rumors I’ve heard are in this thread.

Is it just me or does this iron look like it has a rectangular insert here?  Solid short irons working to long irons with inserts?

I see it. Looks like it could be that, or just a tiny amount of weight taken out to be moved somewhere else in the head, towards the heel or toe possibly?!

I'd really like to know what shafts Ping may offer this year and if the MMT might be in the mix?

Are you an MMT player? Curious if you've hit MCI's, Recoil & SF's. If so, how do they compare in your opinion? On this topic, I can't believe companies like Ping and PXG do not offer the 120 MCI's. Up-charge might be double of other graphite but boy they would sell.

Yes, I am currently playing the MMT and really because it was a NO upcharge with PXG.  I have only demoed the Recoils,  but did have the SF's in an old Titleist set.  I think of all the shafts like this,  I liked the SF's the best for my swing,  but went with the MMT's for no upcharge.

The MMT's are really nice shafts, just not as friendly as the SF's in my opinion,  but as you know...  YMMV

Thanks for sharing. I've not "tested" any of them but felt the MMT's to not absorb the ground impact as well as the MCI or even SF.

Injection vs plug...kind of like P790 to some degree? Would make sense my Hov only played these in his shorter irons. If this is the case, would assume they may replace the i500? Would take these out of the market for me.

I just recently got fitted for jpx921 forged and went for a driver fitting a few weeks after.  The fitter handed me a ping blueprint to "warm up" I looked at it and thought that I didn't have the game.... then I continued to flush 15 shots in a row.

If the new i59 is anything like those I am in trouble

Hopefully, they learned a lot from the Anser irons they released what almost ten years ago? Those did not feel look or perform any better than the i-series of the time yet they were about 2x the price and nobody bought or remembers them. (Queue the one guy that bought them and thought they were great responding in 3, 2, 1.... 😄)

These are not 1:1 replacements for i500.

The i59 are the iBlade replacement. If you look at PINGs trademarks, they have i525 and i230. Those will be the replacements for the i500 and i210, respectively.

This have been discussed 10x on this forum already.

What is the sole like in a iblade/i59 compared to the i210? Is it like blue print thin or is there significant help like the 210?

I truly believe the iBlade is just as easy to play as the i210. Same with the S55. Just poor naming IMO. Anybody with a halfway competent golf swing should be able to play the iBlade/s55/i59 style without problem. If you have an OTT/flippy pick type swing that doesn’t compress the ball well I can see the fatter sole helping you with launch and spin on the i210 or more extra G series.

Wow, compared to the increase over the i210, the price increase is huge.  I have seen new i210 4-P for $875 from authorized Ping accounts. Ping must be very proud of its forged irons.

iblade is/was $1199 for 3-W. Given the prevailing thought is these are iblade replacements rather than i210, the price increase isnt out of line given both how long ago iblade was released and that these new clubs are forged (what “forged” means here tbd, but at least will be marketed that way).
