PING will be just fine. They are an engineering company first and golf club company second. Almost like a hobby for them. No shareholders to please either. They can do whatever they want.

Everyone on here talks a big game but as soon as they are released, everyone on here will be handing over their next "x" amount of paychecks to get them.

No company can “do what they want”…the whole point of any business is happy customers and money.

Companies care about profits first. That includes making you happy 2nd.

I wouldn’t doubt Ping has the ability to sit back and wait a bit. When all the shipping/port delays clean up and labor issues reside, they’ll be back to normal. Even if they could get supplies stateside, who knows if they’ll get the labor to assemble clubs timely.

Inflation is retarded right now on everything, profitable business are passing the buck to us. Thank Ping for not expediting releases, they would price themselves out of the market.

As for price (I don’t honestly know), I would guess on the high side mainly due to the fact that mostly anything/everything needed ti make a golf club has price increases.  And, simply that the cost of “metal-anything” has increased 25-59% from this time last year .

...actually it's Project X "LS".

Has anyone hit them yet? Went to Ping Japan site, very interested in what the aluminum insert inside the hollow body does. I trust Ping and their engineered, just ready to hit it and see if it feels good. In the looks dept. I think it’s the best looking club they have ever made. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to hit it this weekend,

Does ping not have employees or other stakeholders to worry about?

No business can just do “whatever they want” and expect to stay in business long

Now they are (reportedly) bringing out a long delayed iron at extreme pricing levels. Possibly not even releasing in North America first.

Interesting strategy

This has been discussed in great length on another thread. PING first and foremost is an engineering company. Their golf clubs is a smaller business of a much larger company.

1.  There are no stakeholders - they are not publicly traded;

2. They release what they want when they want and for how much they want;

3. They follow their own model and do not succumb to outside pressures from competitors;

They did it with the G425 line so it's not a new strategy and look how well that worked out for them. Backordered for weeks/months.

The point is, PING can do whatever want and their loyalists will fork over their money once it is available.

They are a family owned business who have tremendously loyal employees. They do not have stakeholders. Ask any of their employees, they are like a family.

True to a very certain extent. Not like their hasn't been bumps along the years though.

Unfortunately, I don't see the newer Generations quite like the OG's, in regards to loyalty

The old guys though.....they[we] are fiercely loyal.

Loyal Ping fan here, but also logical.  While I have been looking forward to having these replace my s55, I can’t justify buying it at that price point.  There are many new releases (Titleist and TM) and even some from a year or two ago (PXG Gen 3) that will likely perform as good as what the i59 may offer against the competition.

1. A stakeholder is anyone with an interest in the business. Employees, vendors, suppliers, advertising partners. There are a lot of those

2. They release what they judge necessary to compete in the marketplace.

3. That does not mean their model is immune to failure

My point is the number of loyalists is not static. They can’t do whatever they want without any regard to customers

Look up what a stakeholder is.

family needs to get paid too. They can’t ignore sales and being competitive

How many times does this need to be said?

PING'S MAIN BUSINESS IS NOT GOLF

"Karsten also owns several subsidiaries involved in the manufacturing process of its golf clubs. Because of their technical expertise these businesses have other commercial applications. Karsten Engineering, for instance, does research for clients such as NASA, IBM, and Motorola. Dolphin Inc., a foundry and brazing operation, not only casts putter and iron heads, but also produces precision parts for a number of airplanes and weapons systems, including the Stealth bomber and the M-A tank."

So here is what I want to know.  Has anyone hit these?  Why are they getting play on tour in the 7-W slots, but not in the long irons?  Not forgiving enough?  Launch too high?  Long iron heads not available?  If it was i59 short irons and i210 long irons, we could easily conclude it is a forgiveness or launch issue.  But i59 short and iBlade long is just a little odd...

I believe the reason for seeing a lot of only 7-W in the I59 is because of spin and/or launch. Also Wilco Nienaber earlier this month had the set with 2-W in the bag.

If that guy doesn't cave in the faces on the i59, they are quality.

In this Youtube video (around 8:40 mark) Hovland talks about the i59's and straight up says they aren't forgiving enough in the longer irons.  Aesthetically the i210's didn't blend well enough so it sounds like that is how he went back to iBlades in the longer irons.

So it has probably been asked and answered ..hollow in the longer irons? Would not think a one piece forging would have spin issues... But who knows

Looks like they are probably all hollow with an aluminum insert.

Unforgiving long irons hold zero appeal to me.

They sold Dolphin over a decade ago. However, you are correct their military technology business is huge for them.

Ball placement is the same for 6 and 7 for me, so for me it's a mid. That being said, I transition my blueprints to iblades at 5, so the forgiveness level works for me. The price point not so much..

S56 6i then iBlade 5i[need that launch/spin]....and I doubt I can get rid of it
