Not saying I’m a fan of this pricing but Based on what I’ve heard from acquaintances at TM, I’ll just say that the time of pre-COVID pricing is over, not only at ping. I’m pretty sure that 1499 will soon be the norm for a set and new drivers will retail for 600+.

I guess that benefits companies making really good products at reasonable prices (cleveland, Srixon, Wilson) and will open people up to the JDM and/or custom club market.

I personally hope it all backfires spectacularly, but that only happens if people don't buy

It's not like it's 100% greed driven.  The raw materials have gotten extremely expensive compared to where they were a few years ago.  Steel has skyrocketed.  Rubber too.  It is bound to trickle down eventually unfortunately.  The question is, if those stabilize and drop down in price, will the high prices start coming back down?  I would guess no haha.

I see MMT 105tx as an up charge option some places….all the MMT’s, actually.

The price doesn’t bother me too much because ping likely won’t replace these after a 18 months, so you are looking at a multi year set of irons. I like in the ping marketing video at the end he talks about the manufacturing and inspections and I thought that was a nice subtle way of saying “these are expensive to produce”. Anyone who has ever considered Miura or PXG and the price on these is not a dealbreaker.

Sorry for a bit of a newby question (I'm ashamed as a WRX'er I don't know this) but can heads-only be ordered from anywhere? I already have shafts and grips that I would want to put in a 3, 4, 5 iron. I suppose the price to order would be the same, so might as well get a set of stock grips/shafts to go in them and put aside as backup?

as in no custom shafts or just no “Viktor Hovland Grind those” custom?

Color code - stock shaft offerings - stock ping grips etc = no wait

The more custom the longer the wait

Not ping....do as I am

Order stock in correct length/ color code....I request heavy heads as well

Then change out the shafts myself

Now that they are giving details of the club, these look really interesting.  Rather than filling a hollow club with some type of foam or rubber, they are removing weight with aluminum.  So they can theoretically get forgiveness without that hollow feel.

I'm really interested in these.

I believe the reveal tomorrow will show a pure platinum insert thereby explaining the cost of the irons.

186 a club for the new titleists suddenly seems quite reasonable

Good thing Ping doesn’t need customers, or so we’re told.

Maybe they don't want business because they can't get product shipped out the way it is now.

hiyahh. That’s the problem though. I cart loaded these puppies from 4-pw with some MMT’s and looked at the price, I said to myself, “self, are you really gun a grab a set of Pings or some Miura 201’s?” I take a complete amoral view of product pricing, so I don’t care on that front, but as a consumer, it made me not purchase them.

I configured a set with Tour Issue X100's.  Same config I ordered in Apex Pros that can be had for $1295.  The i59 rang up at $2157.  Absurd.

how I wish, how I wish U-wedge were here. We’re just, two lost strokes chipping in a fish bowl, year after year.

Thank you for this! Lol.  It's showing a U in the customized at PGATSS and others but guessing just an error...
