I've been a huge Ping fan for over 30 years. Probably played their stuff for 25 of those years. But if I can buy PXG or Miura for the same price or close to it, I'll go another route besides Ping for irons.

I have the first non Ping set of irons in my bag since 1998 (Ping isi)… Not sure what is happening with them, or if they are finally feeling the effect of Mike Nicolette and Brad Schweigert being gone, but it seems the philosophy and design have changed dramatically.

I agree. I was a Ping guy myself, but they haven't released anything worth me playing since the s55. Tried many, liked none. Moved on over with Brad and Mike and couldn't be happier.

There may be a few reasons a golf course pro shop doesn't get an allotment of balls.  First might be an accounts payable problem.  Or maybe they've hit their credit limit.

Because it's a shortage at one doesn't mean it's a universal shortage.

Lol what a classic to assume you know better than me whats going on in my proshop. We cant order balls simply because there is no balls to order

I didn't assume anything.  For all I know you might be the cart bag guy or the custodian.  So, explain to me your position and your familiarity with the financials at where you work.

"My Proshop"????  Do you own the pro shop?  Head Pro?  Assistant?  Private club? Muni? Just curious.

Work at a big golf store. There is an industry wide shortage.

Which one?  There are several big box stores here in the Jacksonville Fl area and none seem to have a shortage of balls.  Just saying.

Keep another thing in mind also.  As the golf season in the north comes to an end more balls and equipment are sent to the southern states.

Once again.  I didn't assume anything.  Just stated some reasons why there may be a shortage at a particular shop.

There doesn't seem to be a shortage of balls anywhere in the Jacksonville Florida area.

Are you in the north?  As I stated in a previous post.  Manufacturers tend to allocate more shipment to the southern states as the northern golf season comes to an end.

You can't order new golf balls.....existing inventory only. You won't get a quote on shipping date

Gloves are the same presently....might get in dz here or there from a 20 dz order

I talked to a sales guy at Golf Galaxy yesterday who said that Titleist is so low on grips that it has started sending wedges with no grips to the store and telling the store to add a grip from the existing inventory according to what the buyer wants.

I saw that yesterday. They were charging 5.00 less and you paid for grip they would install it for free

PXG is considerably more affordable than Ping now…faster turnaround time too.

While I think the i59 prices are nuts, I don't think PXG having a firesale is a fair way to criticize Ping pricing. PXG's pricing is all hype, they'll probably be featured in a Talladega Nights 2 commercial. No non-sponsored golf pro felt compelled to put their $5000+ bag into play.

Not sure if Ping will see any non-sponsored players put them into play, but the odds are probably higher than PXG irons.

Ping patrons still have the i210 which might be the best bang for buck players iron ever, coming from a Titleist/Mizuno/Srixon guy.

Lol I love when people use the word hater 😆 It's objectively the truth, PXG has stock because they're unpopular or overpriced...welcome to reality!

The PXG ads train their fans to call anyone who doesn't like their clubs "haters." What a bizarre, paranoid existence.

Hit a demo at my club the other day. Felt like it launched way higher than my Blueprint 7 iron. Might have been the shaft though (I game the DG 120 S300, and the i59 had a project x 6.0 in it).

Must've been the shaft.  I believe the lofts on the i59 and BP are the same.

I’m not pro PXG or anti PXG. But speaking from my experience of playing a lot of golf at many different courses with many different people. I have literally only seen PXG irons in 1 bag. The guy said he loved them. So in my experience that’s an accurate statement. Not saying they are bad, just not that prevalent 🤷🏼‍♂️ Now back to the i59 talk 😊

I have hit both shafts and there is no doubt the i59's launch a little higher.  Again,  I think it is important to remember that the i59 is not a replacement for the Blueprint or even the i210's,  so they just are not really comparable.  I have hit the i59's many times and I have spent the last two weeks hitting the demo head with the Modus 105 shaft and I absolutely love the feel and the forgiveness of the new i59's.  For what they are, small profile head...  they are quite forgiving and yes, they do launch the ball higher than the Blueprint and that is great for me.  The i59's are really designed to be the new iblade and it is very comparable.

To each his own, but I really like the i59's.   Sure the price is a little whacky,  but everything is getting more and more expensive.

I know the loft vs loft debate. ....the i59 launch quite a bit higher than blueprints.....its a trait that they carried over from the iBlade - albeit minus the higher spin

Our credit is fine, we have plenty left on our limit.   Yet our ball shelfs are near empty as well.   It's a industry wide issue now and will continue into most of 2022.

If these aren’t meant to replace the i210, why’d they use the “I” naming convention???

I’m not sure anyone can answer what Ping seems to be doing with their model lineup at this time.  Maybe because they replace the iblade but thats just a guess.

Finally got to check these out.  Look really nice and all but that really is a lot of coin.   If would be giving them a hard look if I didn’t just pick up a set of jpx sel for a great price.
