... Right there with you as I have played all 3 too. Obviously they performed or we would not have bought 3 versions. I still have my Forged Tours along with 2019 P790's, P760s and some Z Forged for fun. The last thing I need to look at is another set of irons ... but of course I will.

I'm definitely intrigued. Fly z + and KFT irons were so underrated. One of those sets I always wanted to bag but never pulled the trigger for whatever reason. Curious to see these guys in hand and compare the shape and size of the previous versions.

Speaking of MIM, has anyone tested the wedge or currently playing them? Very little info out there on them and they have been out for a few months now. Sorry to thread hijack.

MIM isn't supposed to be some distance tech, if I understand, but a tech that ensures each head is as close in weight shape, etc to any other set. Helps control outliers and some heads being different in weight and stuff. Supposed to feel really good too.

@J_Birdie that’s what I understand as well. Seems like a method to make production very consistent while also producing a soft feel. Can’t wait to see these in hand.

I don’t disagree about the last 2. I only bought the Forged Tour because I sold the FlyZ+ and started missing them. There’s a change from the Amp Forged to the newer models with tungsten weighting and the sole. Hard to change something that works well.

But my point is if this new iron is an improvement, it’s going to be awesome. In my opinion, current Cobras are great. Minimal offset, some help with mishits, good distance for a players club. If more pros than Bryson played them I’m sure they’d sell a ton.

... I think the differences between the Amp Forged and the next 2 irons were basically cosmetic. The tungsten was raised a hair, but it was visible in the sole of the AP and hidden in the next 2, which of course was a much cleaner look. Add the satin finish compared to the shiny finish on the AF and that was reason enough for me to change. Like rsh0308 I sold my Fly Z+ when I bought the original P790's and regretted it. I was at a Budget Golf sale and a "used" that looked brand new set of Forged Tours was on sale for $299 and a no brainier. Having owned all 3 I will never sell my FT's, even if I pick up these new King Tours. The combination of thin top line, workability, feel, turf interaction and crazy forging for a PI is unparalleled imo.

Glad to see the line continuing - I just got a new set of Forged Tours at the beginning of last year and absolutely love them, but most people I play with haven't even heard of them.

Only differences were tungsten shaped into a circle and on both heel and toe on King Forged Tour. All the tech was still visible and they changed the cavity badging design.

Also got the KBS FLT shaft instead of KBS S+ or R+ shaft which I think just meant hard stepped.

Look for this new version to possibly have KBS $-Taper or maybe the Lite version stock shaft.

Tried to get info on these clubs from a cobra rep near me but he said they will now more about these clubs in 2 months... I play One length and looking to upgrade on the king forged tour one length. Hoping these are coming out in One length. I'm questioning if they are having trouble with MIM in a whole. Seeing how I believe only one pro on tour is using a raw 60 degree MIM wedge (Rickie)and they have been out for a while now. Everyone else is using the older wedges or if your Bryson no even the old wedges anymore.

Compared to the tasteful and discreet flyz+ and forged tour, these look rather garish. From the pic, I'm not a fan. Maybe they are better in the hand/bag.

I don't think my flyz+ will be trembling in the bag.

... Hard to tell from a photo, but the iron shape looks to be in line with previous similar Cobra irons and those looked awesome at address. I have never cared about the cavity other than the tell tell performance attributes and these look like they would be exactly what I look for in a players iron. Dampening insert, just a little heel/toe and perimeter weighting with a thinner sole and most likely a thin top line. The color and badging is completely irrelevant as long as it performs and fits my eye at address and it feels good to great when I make contact. I will definitely hit and compare these to my Forged Tour irons.

Yeah we really can't tell much. I totally concur with that. I have the older Forged Tour Ones that I'm playing for the year (damn experiments) and I like semi-simplicity they bring to the table. Pretty basic looking with a little styling.

These look a hair gawdy and obviously we aren't gonna see the flair and badging from address but, I like some simplicity a bit more. The new tech forged took a big step in the right direction along with Rickies prototypes and I still think the Cobra MBs are up there as the hottest irons.

Again, still wanna see all the angles.

Don't think the back looks too bad. Sure some stuff going on, but black and silver makes it look relatively clean to me.

Since the previous irons like Amp Forged, Fly Z+ and Forged Tours were all forged with excellent feel, I think we can safely assume Cobra thinks MIM's tighter grain structure and "truly exceptional feel" is equal to or better feeling than a traditional forging. Since their irons have a small but loyal following it seems like it would be counter productive to offer their newest Tour iron that doesn't feel as good as previous models. It is a bold move for sure and we will have to see how they feel and perform once they are released.
