Here’s my baby girl. Lucy. She weighed 92 pounds at the vet today. 16 months old. Great Pyrenees. I’ve had the pleasure of having many good dogs over the years. And she is definitely one of the best. They are a very self sufficient breed , and do not live to please their master like a lab Or golden etc. you have to earn their trust and respect. It was a new learning curve as far as training. But was fun learning new ways. And I must say the experts on this breed were correct. She sticks to me like glue now. Lol. And is head and shoulders the best behaved and best socialized dog I’ve ever had. Everybody she meets loves her.

This is Banjo. He's my 2nd Aussie cattle dog. I don't like to buy from breeders, but will rescue. After a long search we found this guy in a little agricultural town a couple hours south of here. Somebody turned him in and I think it was because he probably got into the chickens or something on a ranch. Their shelter was literally five cages in an alley. He was pure ranch dog when we brought him home. He'd do fine sleeping on the rocks. Tough dog. After a few months he realized that he was here to stay - that he had a family with kids and a home. Now, he's laying on my bed each morning I wake up. Very loving dog with kids and would do anything to protect my wife. In the photo by my golf bag I had a ball in my hand. If you don't mind having a dog that needs attention these are amazing dogs. They are hard-wired to work, especially to herd. My first one was an amazing animal. Extremely smart.

This is Annie Oakley. We got her when she was (we think) around 3 years old from the shelter. That was 5 years ago. She’s a pit bull (50%), husky and golden retriever mix. A work in progress but she’s the sweetest and very protective of our home and my wife!
