Current Vokey Grind Similar to TVD

I saw a thread where someone referenced the D grind when it first came out was similar to the TVD M grind, is there any truth to that? Currently playing a TVD 60M, which back then didnt have bounce labeled on it, but Vokey archives say its 8*. Looking to replace it with a SM8 and not sure if a D or M would be the closest match, assuming the M though. Anyone know if the TVD grinds were special or just different lieading edges and such? I feel like the TVD 60 had a mega round leading edge that sat really low to ground and I loved it.

M grind is your best bet... The D will have significantly more bounce

M is the match. I have a TVD M and a SM7 M and I can't tell any difference. Vokey did make a high bounce TVD M that is somewhat similar to the D grind but the D grind has more heel and toe relief and the bounce a little closer to the leading edge. Some of the TVD grinds were special, like the V grind and R grind. Many or most were same as retail but with different bounce such as high bounce M and low bounce K grinds, different finishes or expanded loft offerings. You will notice some head shape differences on various TVD M's for example just as you see subtle shape differences on retails M's from generation to generation i.e. SM6 to SM7.

Thanks for the confirmation, I will still probably wait for our demos to come in but it helps to know the M is still the M I have been playing. The 56* might be moving back to the S grind and adding a couple degrees of bounce. Currently playing M on that and it feels redundant, and might be not as effective out of the bunker.
