Lightweight Stand Bags

If you don't mind, could you measure the top and share it here in the thread? I haven't been able to find top diameter for the LiteTech.

Has anyone tried or seen the Callaway Fairway C?

seems like a great hybrid of the best features of the hyper lite, flextech, and sun mountain 3.5.

They are very solid, not the lightest bags but so long as you don't expect too much on that front I think you'll be happy with it.

Sweet thanks for the insight! I needed something smaller for my 4 wheel push cart and decided to go with the Sport Lite!

I picked up an all black OUUL Python back in the fall. It was on clearance and wound up being $52.00 shipped. I should have bought a couple of them. It may be the best $52 I ever spent on golf equipment.

What I like: it looks great in all black. It’s light. If I recall correctly, the bag was listed at 2.4 or 2.7lbs. I dont know if that’s with or without straps. It’s waterproof with sealed zippers and included a waterproof hood. The stand legs work perfect even on slick floors in which other stand bags will fall. This bag distributes weight evenly and can sit flat while in the stand up position.

There are a few things are not ideal but nothing that would prevent me from buying again. Those are: It only has four pockets. I miss a dedicated spot to put a sharpie. I miss a dedicated spot for a beverage. I miss a dedicated spot for tees and such. The straps are on the smallish side.

That stated. I would buy again. This is my go to when traveling, when I’m walking or when the weather is bad.

Looks like a solid competitor, but perhaps a slightly higher price. The straps on that bag look pretty decent.

top looks a bit narrow, but of course they don’t have a measurement for it.

TGW says it’s 9 inches.. may go see one tomorrow. Need to get a replacement for my 4.5 that’s lighter but more durable/features than hyper lite zero from last year.

Lots of love for the TM flex tech out there. I'm not a TM guy myself so it hasn't really been on my radar but those that have them seem to really like them.

I know this isn't a Sun Mountain thread but took my 2.5+ to the course yesterday for the first time and I was really impressed. Zero fatigue other than the x-strap being a little thin, but not as bad as I was expecting after reading some posts here. I may pull the EZ Fit strap I ordered a few years ago off my Hybrid 14 bag and throw it on the 2.5+ and see how that works. I'm happy to have saved a bunch of $$ getting the 2.5+ on closeout plus another discount, but I also wish I would've gotten one sooner. Pretty much the perfect amount of storage with no extra or unused pockets/compartments. Most of our courses are quite undulating or have at least two or three lengthy uphill slogs between holes, and since I've been using a caddytek cart for the last 3-4 years I've started to notice more the challenge that is pushing a heavy bag+cart up those hills. I still think using the push cart is easier in general, but having such a light bag is really a revelation. I also noticed less club tangle for some reason than other 4-way top SM bags with the same size opening as the 2.5+. As someone who is a fan of 14-way tops, maybe the 2.5+ 14 is even better and/or pretty much the perfect bag even though it adds another pound of weight, but I just can't convince myself to pay for them. Fantastic bag and great job Sun Mountain.

Just got my Ping Craz-E-Lite the other day and had a chance to load it up this morning. A few of my initial impressions.

As it is called, the thing is crazy light. Shockingly light. Even loaded up compared to my old hoofer Vantage it feels MUCH lighter then the 2 or 3 lbs of difference between the bags. This is my first bag in the light catergory and shocked at the difference.

The material feels of better quality then the K-lo or SM. This material seems a bit more robust and not as paper thin.

A few things very minor things I would personally change:

The top pocket on the spine, which I'm guessing 99% of people will use for tees, I wish there was just a tiny wedge of mesh in each corner of the pocket so when you open it up, it doesn't feel like something will spill out, as it isn't that deep.

The small pouch on the inside of the big long pocket, just another 1-1.5 inches deeper. It has so much potential!

I am excited to get this thing to the course and try it out!

Is the opening of the SM 2.5+ that much bigger/better than the CEL?

still thinking of trying out the 2.5+ in royal/navy.

I had a chance to walk with the bag a couple rounds over the weekend and I didn't notice any instances of terrible club tangle.

Everything went more or less to the bottom everytime and I never once had anything get stuck pulling it out.

It didn't stand out, club tangle wise, from the experiences I had with my full sized Hoofer Vantage Team I've had for the last decade plus.

I've walked several more rounds with my 2.5+ and still no complaints at all. The only real annoyance is the pocket behind the water bottle, if I throw my scorecard in there sometimes I can't get the water back in easily. It's really just that good all around. After some changes in my wedges I can carry 13 clubs around the home course instead of 14.

Random plug now that the weather is getting hotter- I've dealt with shoulder and chest/back irritation from some straps in the past, but I got this cream and it's worked fantastic. Just one application before the round seems to work, and I think the foam on the EZ-Fit straps is frendly on the shoulders as well.

bag-1.jpg

bag-3.jpgI bought the Sun Mountain Bag to replace my Titleist Players 4+ model from 4-5 years back. I wanted something lighter but also something that could carry all my stuff when I travel or play in cold weather. I rarely play in rain, hence why I didn't go with the H2NO model. I live in Austin, TX so it's normally hot most of the year. This bag is very light weighted in at 3.6LBs on my scale at home. I have included a list of the items i put in my bag under normal circumstances. The bag is definitely smaller than my players 4+ but that's a good thing for me. The compartment on the padded side is also smaller than the one on the Players 4+ but it's ok, i only put rain gloves and an extra glove in there so, it's not a big deal. Love the ball compartment, it looks bigger than my titleist bag and keeps my 6 balls, oakley glasses and tees just fine. I will be playing on friday afternoon, if the weather holds up and can give you some insight on how it carries. So far i like the way it looks and the shoulder straps are very comfortable, relative to my titleist players 4+.

Contents:

6 Taylormade TP5X

Bushnell range finder and case

14 clubs

Oakley sunglasses and case

Rain gloves and extra players glove, handful of tees, and golf club key/tool to adjust my driver and woods
