I have a Bag Boy Compact 3 Push Cart.  Does that change your suggestions?  I’m leaning towards these two bags too to be honest.  I just wish the 4.5 came in better color schemes!

For Bag Boy, I'd go Sun Mountain. The SM bottoms don't play well with Clicgear bottom rungs but on Bag Boy bags they're great.

My exact bag! I've tried a bunch of different ideas with the rangefinder. The grips on the handle get stuck if you try to use the velour pocket, it gets knocked around too much in the ball pocket, and if you use a water bottle like a sentient being it doesn't work in the small side pocket.

 

If the 2.5+ had the little elastic pouch the 3.5LS had, it would be basically perfect. 

@goosehook - Hope all is well and we can get out for a round this year.....where have you decided to keep the range finder? I'm offloading two older bags that are just sitting that don't really fit the bill and hoping to consolidate to a SM2.5+ as soon as I can get them moved.

Yeah agreed. They just feel really thick and the zippers suck.  I love the quality of Titleist bags, but not a fan of how bulky the hybrid 5 bag is...I would go with the Players 4 Plus in a minute, but have a feeling I’d have the same club tangle issues as I do with my Ping bag due to the narrow top

BTW - great thread. 

I gave up on bag storage and got a carabiner case with a magnetic opening. It gets caught in the legs sometimes but it does just fine. I think the summer might be pretty normal, lots of golf ahead! Definitely going to have some Hivers up to my club a few times.

I have had about 5 4.5 bags over the years.  It’s my current gamer.  Every time my eyes wander, I come back to the SM bags.  This year’s experiment was the TM Flextech Crossover.  I got the “SIM2” colorway.  It’s a beautiful bag.  But it’s heavy, and the pocket layout is seriously lacking.  I will say the straps on the TM bag are absolutely fantastic.  I returned the TM bag today.  I exchanged it for a SM 2.5+.  So now I have my carry bag, and my “cart” bag.  Very pleased with my current setup.  Take it from the guy that keeps coming back....SM makes a perfect bag at any size.

Agree with @brew4eagle that I’d take SM over TM bags as well for overall build quality.

 

For me the most concerning area of the TM bags were the legs. I tried two 2021 FlexTech Lite’s, both black w/ white legs...1 had scratches on the legs that showed the metal underneath, and both had leg droop when carried.
 

It was very tough to get both legs to snap up to the same level when carrying, and the base of the legs seemed too thin to not sink in to soft grass/fairways.

 

SM bags are better designed top to bottom...it’s all about the details and crafting.

i only consider ping or higher end bags like vessel. SM maybe if they have a good one released, material is too thin for my liking though. Other brands like TM are just cheaply made bags

Another bag nerd tip-  if you want to customize a little change the paracord zip pulls.  The stock navy 2.5+ zip pulls are pretty crappy, here's a few colors I got.  Can go red/white/blue for my USA themed covers, or light blue for my UNC stuff...

Paracordplanet.com, got 4 different colors (10 ft of each) for $12 shipped (WELCOME20 code).  The 95 and 275 are good for the zippers, the 325 is thicker which is good for the umbrella section and I made a holder for my Garmin with the 325, pictured below.

 

The 95 is a little less stiff than the 275, so would go with the 95 if they have the color in both and you're trying to decide between the 2.

When you cut the ends hit them with a lighter so they melt a bit, keeps them from fraying/unraveling.  I lick my finger and press the ends flat when they're hot, makes them fit through the zippers easier.

Which color 4.5 do you currently I have.  I want to go for one but the color schemes aren’t too attractive

What bag are you gaming currently?  My eyes have been wondering for months but I just keep coming back to Ping too...even despite the club snag.

Also does no one use Callaway bags?  Literally never hear anyone discuss their bags

I have both my bags in black.  I agree the colors sometimes are lacking year to year.  I decided on Black because they are future-proof LOL.  They match everything.  I have some custom Cru headcovers I game at times, and they are black and grey as well.

I have decide by tmrw on my Hoofer Lite, last day I can return it.  Not sure what to do.  2.5+ and HL have their pros and cons.  HL is $65 cheaper, might be the winning pro.

What were the names of the colors you picked? Specifically the Carolina blue colors? None of them appear Carolina blue in my opinion that I’m seeing on the website
