JHR,

Those are incredible looking. I really like that black finish. Great grind on those fellas. Very sweet. They sort of remind me of the best overall looksbetween a classic titleist blade and a mizuno blade.

I'm sure this topic has been covered before, but can you tell me who does the forging and where its done. Enjoy.

ill chime in with what i know about scratch....its 1018 carbon steel the softest available....they are made in japan in the same foundary that makes moz irons and wedges...the moz irons are over 2500 and the wedges are 300....fway fred will chime in with more....i dont have his wedges yet...however all posts i see just praise his stuff...alot of positive feedback!!

Here are a few more pics of some Tour Blades like JHRs.  These all start out as the same exact raw head and are ground into whatever the customer wants.  As you can see we can do quite a few different muscle shapes with this blade.

Man, the blades in this pic may very well be the nicest clubs I've ever seen.

To answer all your questions:

1) Can you still put the S logo, or are you just using the script from now on?

Josh

We are still using the S logo as our standard stamping however the script will be offered as a special order.

2) how does the black finish hold up?

This black finish holds up about the same as any black oxide finish. If you take very good care of it and oil it after every time you hit balls or play it will last decently well. If you dont it will wear and rust pretty soon after mostly on the sole and bottom of the face.

3) Do you make the blades in lefty????????????

What do you make lefty??????????????????

We will have blades and wedges available in LH January 1st.

4) I'd love to see the topline of those CBs.

Here is a pic of the 6 iron in comparison to the MR-23 US Spec CBs. The Scratch AR1 is the polished club on the left the MR23 is the satin club on the right. As you can see they have about the same thickness topline which is pretty thin for a CB. We can also make it thicker or a little thinner whatever the customer wants.

5)fairway Fred,Can the new jlm line of wedges be customized with a grind.....you need an update on your website with all the services you offer..I have a buddy who wants wedges but without a website hes not interested....just trying to be honest.....do you offer a hybrid/utility????

The JLM wedges refer only to our upcoming 2006 retail line that you will see in stores starting next year. We also offer a full line of custom hand ground wedges that are customized with any grind and specs. We are in the process of updating our website we will have updates on there in the coming weeks and a completely new site around the first of the year. Untill then your friend can see our current site which lists many of our options at www.scratchgolf.com. At the moment we only offer irons and wedges no hybrid or utility clubs.

6) I'm sure this topic has been covered before, but can you tell me who does the forging and where its done. Enjoy.

All of our forgings are done by Ishihara-Shoten in Hemiji Japan. (literally across the street from the Miura factory) All of our clubs are made from 1018 carbon steel which is the softest steel used in golf clubs today.

These irons are our standard muscle Tour Blades in Polished Chrome with no extra stampings and no paintfill.
