5 wood search......

Hi

Bum, cracked the face of My Cobra F6 Baffler..

Looking for a New 5 wood,.

Got a Callaway epic flash sub zero 3 wood, so could go with a matching 5 wood, then have the option of adjusting loft.

Any one compared the flash/flash sz with other Callaway 5 woods, rogue or maverik and why does the maverik not have the adjustment neck?

Or just find a F6 Baffler again. Or maybe some other Cobra like the Ltd, Any one gaming a Ltd 5 wood?

Cobra F8 and 9s are still out there and the new SZ are nice too. I prefer Ping, love the look and feel and easy to get in the air!!

Try Srixon Z F85 18 degree. Great reviews. It's non-adjustable.

i agree with this. If my F6 Baffler ever cracks I’m going with the F9 Tour. It seems to be a true successor in head size and length.

F8+ is a great option as well.

Mavrik is the replacement for Rogue: no adjustment saves 10g of weight higher, can put that 10g lower. Just a trade off in club design.

 

EF is still a current product, Mavrik just have more options and shapes (and different sound).

 

You really have lots of options out there: another thread swears by the Rogue SZ 5 :)

I just replaced my F6 baffler with the F9. It is a definite upgrade. I still have the F6 if you're interested.

Find another baffler on ebay. Otherwise if you want to spend some $$, F9 is the natural choice.

I had the F8 tour 4-5, and much prefer the baffler. I would just get another F6 baffler if it fills the gap well.

Recently got an Epic Flash 5 wood (regular, not sub-zero), and I am loving it! Can't go wrong sticking with the Callaway.

I want to try the epic flash sz, Rogue SZ and the New maverik woods..

Today I tried a buddysTaylormade M6 with a Speeder 661 TX, really nice flight and stable, liked it alot, just not a fan of the silver paint on the top, seems like it presents a lot of loft on the face..

Also had a cuple of swing with the Cobra F9 5/6 wood, had a ladies shaft in it, but the feel of the face was Nice and liked the look from adresse, compared it to My Baffler, just like that smaller head and know it will pick the ball out of pretty much Any Lie, except really deep rough..

The Hunt is on, more products to try?

Its fantastic, havet been thinking of a New driver for a couple of days??

I agree with those mentioning the Baffler and the other various Cobra offerings. F8+ and F9 Tour are really good clubs. I just got the F9 Tour 3 wood and it's really easy to elevate with the right shaft. I still have my Baffler that I'm going to mess around with as my 5 wood. I was using it as my 4 wood for last season, and really liked it, but I found a good deal on a like new F9 Tour 3 wood that I couldn't pass up.

The issue I'm going to have with the Baffler as my 5 wood is that I've had my Adams 19* XTD Super Hybrid that it's going to have to beat out. I've had that club for so long now, and I'm going to have a hard time not keeping that one in the bag. It's not a knock on the Baffler, it's just how much I trust the XTD.

Its allways fun with a little Battle in the bag.

I really liked the Baffler, feel like it sits between a reg 5 wood and a hybrid, and love the rails.

But I will try out the other Cobra's and see If they can take the spot..

F9 feels great of the face, just need to try it with a proper shaft..

I just was given a PING G410 5W to try and I think it’s the easiest FW to elevate and just wants to go straight. I think j the Tour 75 shaft that PING offers is a great shaft as well. Worth a look if you’re in the market.

The Ping fairway Woods get great reviews, so will try it.. But the looks is not My first choise, but then again If it out perform the other try outs.

Then it will win the spot?️‍♂️?

I thought the same about the looks too and the sound. Coming from trying a TS2 fairway wood that I tried in the 5W spot. But the PING flat out performs no matter how fugly it looks or sounds.

Replaced my Epic Flash 3w and Heavenwood with a Epic Flash 5w turned down 1* to 17* and working out very well.

Had a look at the Ts2 at adress, 4 wood and 5 wood. Like the smaller head on the 5 wood the best.

Will try both the TS3 and Ts2 on friday?

MGS has a fairway comparison and I was very surprised with the speeds across various clubs. I am a Ping/Titleist guy and the speed of Titleist was good. However, I was shocked with the speed of the G410 they reported. As someone that played the G400 the past two seasons I was planning to get a G410 but MGS has me reconsidering a TS3 5w if I cannot score a good deal on a G410

I had Rogue Subzero, and tried the mavrik. Amazing difference! best woods I have ever hit. I ended up buying a 3W, but am saving up for 5W. I cannot say enough good things about the Mavrik line. I was impressed.

A battle in the bag is more fun when there's time to practice and play, lol. Weather in North Texas has been hit or miss over the past few weekends, so I'm not really starting that battle until later this spring when the sun stays out longer in the evenings to go hit balls.

I'm a big fan of the rails as well. They've been very helpful hitting out of the rough. I added hot melt to mine and play it just a touch over 41" now for my 5 wood. I really like the ball flight I've seen with it on the range with it set to 18.5 & 19*. I just need more time to get comfortable with it.

I really like my flash sub zero 3 wood, strong flight and in the wind at 14* and set to 15* or 16*, it works perfect for controlling the hight of the shots

I have an M3 3HL that turned down to 19*. I love it off the tee, but off the deck leaves alot to be desired. I tried the Cobra fairways over the years, but they tended to produce super strong snap hooks. I still bust out a TM V Steel. Nother cuts through the turf like that one. I might try the new SIM to get that sole back. Goodluck with the search.

Love the V-Steel, I just dont like the looks of the New taylormade fairway wood at adress.

Got a 13.5*, 15*and a 18*

But they are currently in a Buddy's bag, he wants to buy, but they are not for sale, takling Them with me in the grave?

Might have to fight him, If I want Them back?
