Is Taylormade replacing the P760 anytime soon?

I thought the same thing, until Chris Trott verbally annihilated me on IG. He swears up and down they’re pure P760’s. The only reason I made the assumption is because the toe screw looked to be replaced with what looks like a tungsten plug.

Day has never struck me as a gear head. I would not be surprised that they are basically stock with fitting alterations for him.

... Thought I would give you an update. Absolutely love the T100-0S and Kuro Kage 105's. Even with the wire in the tip, they still have that really smooth feel like Recoil Prototype shafts. The T100-S are pretty amazing and I can see what so many Pro's put them in their bag. Centered shots feel awesome and I would say very much like MB's. But miss them just a little and you know it. Not jarring or harsh, just not that sweet "I hit that perfectly" feel so feedback is excellent. They are pretty forgiving heel to toe but really suffer a little high on the face. Hitting out of rough and not knowing exactly how high the ball is sitting, just a little high on the face feels pretty bad with a loss of distance I don't get from P760's. But yardage and accuracy are the best I have played in a multi material iron.

... After playing them a couple of weeks, I am selling my 2019 brand new P790's with Steelfiber shafts. The razor thin top line of the T100-S make the 790's look like hybrids in comparison and I just don't feel comfortable looking at them anymore. Perspective can be crazy because I played my last set of P790's for 2 years and although the top line was thicker than I prefer, it never really bothered me ... until I played the T100-S.

Based on what I saw before the tour stopped, I believe Day is onto a new set of 760s that's more "stock" than the ones he initially put into play. That first set had been heavily modified to play more like his old RSi TP. That's probably why Trottie reacted that way.

Whether Day's current set are stock 760s, or if they've had less outward modifications done, is something we likely won't know unless Bovee comments in this thread with a definitive answer.

... I am not quite ready to make that call yet, especially since I have not played the 760's since I received my T100-S, but I think I am leaning that way. Gonna play the 760's today. I have a stretch of 71-67-69-70-70 with the T100-S and I have never shot 4 rounds in a row below par, let alone 5 and counting. Gonna be interesting to put the 760's in play today and see if I can keep the streak going.

Awesome thanks for the update! Glad to see some positive feedback on these. I just bought a set of P760’s from the Classifieds, decided to go that route for now, I think I’m going to wait for the P760 replacement before I decide on the T100S

Definitely interested to see what they do. I’ve been gaming the 760s since they came out and they’ve stayed in the bag longer than any iron I’ve owned in the last decade. Probably says more about me than the iron but they feel great and perform well.

Thanks a lot man, appreciate the pics and effort. Was interesting to see them stacked up against each other, and while I may be mixing the topline photos up it looks like for the most part the two are pretty dang close to similar if not the T100s? a little thicker, longer heel to toe but with less offset?

... I mixed them up in each photo so the one in front/rear isn't exaggerated by the camera. The top line is much thinner on the T100-S, maybe it doesn't translate in the photo's but it is very obvious in person. Heel to toe length is very similar, maybe the T100-S is a hair longer and the offset is also visually less in person with the T100-S.

We're starting to hear from all of the companies. Thus far no, official word from TM, but almost all of the companies thus far are holding off until 2021. A couple companies MAY release one or two things in the fall, but that's it. The COVID business hammered them all and sales are in many cases, less than flat. Few are spending money on golf gear, so new releases are risky even with things opening up.

Rep told me last week that there are 3 models ( P series) coming and my fitting heads are scheduled for late July after their sales meeting. That’s the only info I got.

I think it's safe to assume the current P790 is sticking around for another year, so it's sounding like they'll be introducing a new 730, 750 & 770 lineup then. Maybe they'll rename them MB, MC & CB like in years past (Tour Preferred era)? A good throwback if so.

Fingers crossed they offer combo sets, and the speed foam is limited to the CB/770 long irons only (with MB & MC being one piece carbon steel, maybe some tungsten). Can't wait!

You know what I would love to see from TM. I would love to see a P790 tour irons. I know the 760s I guess were kind of that but kind of not as well. Give me the exact same P790 set design, but in a compact size with no offset.. That would be an amazing set.
