2020 bag help needed

I’m a few cycles behind in my equipment. Please evaluate my bag and let me know where I may need to upgrade. I don't necessarily need a complete overhaul but if theres a club in my current bag that can or should be upgraded, please feel free to suggest.

Check the wedges for wear but otherwise that is a good bag of clubs that should serve you well in the coming season.

Thx! Agree thats definitely the one area I was thinking about upgrading. Hopefully SM7 or SM8 are similar in feel

My dad is 68 years old and still plays to a single digit. He just bought the M2 driver, fairway and hybrid 'new' at a golf show and will be gaming that model for the foreseeable future. He moved 'up' from the Burner Tour. To each his own, of course, but this tells me that the M-line still plays well regardless of the number after the M.

As others have said, nothing wrong with that set of clubs... It's always fun to tinker, but usually doesn't actually help you score.

Wedges are always a good candidate for replacement, which is funny as they seem to have the smallest tech changes... My golf shop has an old Mizuno 10 wedge sitting around (old pro didn't move it, I think the new pro found it while moving) and it doesn't look much different than what is being used now.

If your clubs work for you, keep playing them... I've been playing the same irons for 20+ years now... Honestly, they aren't even a great fit... but I don't think it has a huge impact on my day to day scoring. I also just replaced my 5 year old putter with my 15 year old putter :-)

Planning on replacing wedges and hybrids this season because they need to be replaced... everything else is old but still works fine.

FWIW I gained about 5 mph ball speed going from the m2(2016) to the epic flash. It may not be enough for you to switch. But I definitely gained yardage and cut dispersion in half with a stiffer shaft in the same loft head.

its hard to say without info on your strengths or weaknesses. My last major changes included dropping my hybrid for a driving iron. I use it off the tee a lot and the hybrid went far but it also went far right and far left, where the driving iron is easier to flight down and hit fairways. The course I play doesn’t require a lot of soft high 230yd shots.

if you have access to a track man or fitter, you could always have them check your lofts and work on happing with your irons. He could recheck the lies and make sure your swing hasn’t changed to the point the irons should be adjusted.

wedge grooves will wear if you’ve had them for over 2 years. I’m currently thinking about new wedges, but I also like the spin response I’m getting from mine at the moment. I’ll probably play the season out after restarting my wedges and then evaluate if the club heads need swapping.

i would only worry about making a change if you are having an issue that needs resolving. if you are just looking to tinker, get new grips. It will be cheaper than buying a club you don’t need.

Very solid bag you've got going there, unless you have significant wear on your clubs i see no reason to change!

The only thing I would suggest is getting the lofts and lies of your irons & wedges checked only because they're a couple of seasons old & they may have been knocked around a bit
