You know what I wish every clubmaker would do? Include photos from address with a golf ball in place. So much better for getting an idea of the blade length. Such an important factor, especially when the clubs are not in stores.

Has anyone taken possession of a set of Icons yet? Am wondering if Hogan is sending any out.

Sweet. Hopefully we can custom-build the combo to switch between Icon/PTx at any point in the set. I may want just 4-5 in PTx and 6-PW in Icon, but if there is just a single combo set option I bet the 6 and maybe even 7 would be PTx. I have been playing a set of Titleist 735.CM irons since 2008 and those only have 8-PW blades and I would like a couple more.

Amen. Flexibility has to be a cornerstone of direct to consumer businesses.

Reviews of the Icon are eagerly awaited. It is a very pretty golf club. If it performs well and sounds good, it will sell. But the range of players looking at the Icon may only want to replace one or two long irons more than really seeking a combo. That break, for me, depends on the playability of the Icon. PTX Pro is proven. Surprisingly easy to hit. One plus is It seems like these two heads will look sharp together.

I have the original PTx comboed with the Ft Worth 15, and have my break at 7/8. I wouldn’t mind going longer with the blades, but I like breaking them where the club shape changes as well. If it’s true and they bring out a combo I may have to buy them

Both good ideas. The Edge is one I was interested in trying but never did. Looked like a more compact competitor to the Ping G400 and Mizuno JPX 919 Hot Metal. It got a little overlooked. I usually go for a GI long iron over a utility iron.

Could be a utility iron but better IMO if it is combo options. I don’t play utilities, get great results by just subbing in long irons from more forgiving sets. When I played Srixon 965, used a 565 4 iron. Didn’t like their utilities off turf as much as I did a standard 4 iron.

At this point, Ben Hogan Golf should be cranking up Operation Leaked Photos to start building buzz. Promotes stronger sales. You’ve to leak, followed by pretend outrage. Holding off to make an official announcement is no way to go about this!

The leak was not by Hogan. It was by the USGA then Hogan released their own photos after all the social media outlets posted the pics from the USGA site.

Right. I’m referring to whatever is coming in May. Hogan is hinting at something to please those golfers potentially seeking to combo with the Icon, but has not been specific. I’ll likely demo the Icon anyway because I like Hogan’s stuff and the new ones are mighty purdy, but it’s easy to see the PTX Pro blending well at 4, 5 iron.
