I’m not sure what to believe. I was told pre-order for everyone is 8/31. I’m told reps can compile orders however the SKU’s are not live in Mizuno’s system until 8/31.

This is correct.  I have access to the dealer portal.  The only JPX in their is the CLK.

Don't mean to double post (I asked this on the 921 thread), but I am curious as to the lofts on the Tours.

I am currently playing the MP-18 MMCs and am looking into getting the 921 Tours but recently saw the difference in lofts (MMCs are 2* stronger). I thought the JPX line was for a more aggressive player?

Not sure. Maybe the tech in the JPX line helps close the distance gap.

Can you confirm Recoil 110 is not available? I only see Recoil 95's on website. Thanks in advance.

I can't confirm either way.  So far I haven't gotten any more info from our rep than what has already been put on the site.  No pricing, no stock options, aftermarket pricing etc.

The recoil 110 is on TGW for custom under MP20. They have the custom spec link up on 921F, but does not link to anything yet. They start taking pre order Monday on TGW, probably have the new custom options link working this weekend

The roll out of this line seems very strange. Why announce the clubs without the capacity to take order? That’s to say nothing of the of move to reveal them but not allow any reviews or comments or performance for an additional week. My interest is still there but just seems like some of the energy of the release gets lost.

A bit like running to your favorite roller coaster right when you get to the park and there is an hour long line. #buzzkill

I’ve been thinking the same thing. Spoke to 2 dealers today and they didn’t know pricing or shaft options and I was told they wouldn’t until Monday when they start taking orders.  Strange....

Yep, I'm also puzzled by the rollout. I went into the little fitting shop at the end of my range yesterday to enquire about the Mizuno fitting scheduled for the end of next month according to their website.  Nobody knew anything about it, but to my surprise a Mizuno fitter was there busy doing fittings with the new 921 range (and even he didn't know when their next fitting event was)!

The tours look unreal but the forged was noticeably easier to hit.

Good choice! I think you'll like em! I have the 919 forged and am really liking. I know Mizuno really changed the forge this go around, but the new ones sound even better!

Typo, Mizuno went 1/4 longer in 3/4-9 with the JPX 919 series, is their new standard.

This is entirely speculation, but...

Mizuno usually announces their MP lines the week of The Open, but don't actually go on sale until September.  The first articles discussing details on the JPX 919 line were from late-August, with sales starting in September.  So the JPX 921 announcement looks to be mostly consistent with the 919 announcement.

Mizuno also announced details on the 921 line the same day TaylorMade did the 700 series release, and I'm not sure it's entirely coincidental.  It makes me wonder if Mizuno was a bit unprepared due to delays from the virus-that-shall-not-be-named, and they tried to "rush" the announcement a week or two early to entice potential customers (without brand loyalty) to wait a few weeks before jumping into buying the TM irons.  So since perhaps not all the logistics of the roll-out maybe weren't ironed out prior to the announcement, that could have led to an extended embargo and/or more questions/uncertainty around the roll-out than normal.

I think this 921 release was originally going to have a slight delay from normal, but with 919 stock cleaned out so fast, they pushed back up to normal release.

Job well done IMO.

Late to the party but picked up a set of 919 Tours. I had tried the 919HMB but just didnt get along with the shaft. I tried to go lighter and failed miserably. This set had Tour issue X100's and Midsize +4's. My miss is always a hard left, it will be nice to take that out. Looks like they have 80's lofts as well, only checked the wedge and the 9 so far but they are both 2 degrees weak. In any case Im more excited to play than i have been n a while, even if these are built for 35 year old me and not 53 year old me.

I had my 919 forged irons cut down to the same length as my MP 54s. I believe it was about a quarter inch on each. It's not much but it had a very different feeling. I still hit the ball further with the 919s

Been MP player for pretty much the last 25 years, normally the Tours would be the only ones on my radar, but now that I'm getting a bit older, the Forged have me thinking. I may go Forged 1 degree weak. I am a mid-low launch with all my clubs so thinking a bit of loft will help on these for me. I don't really need a ton of extra distance, but like a larger blade size and will take the extra forgiveness.

As an aside, the best part of taking the 4 iron out of the bag and switching to a hybrid in that spot is that now my iron sets are only 5-PW so I can buy way more sets of irons. ?

No not really.  The embargo date--8/10 for the media on JPX has been known for months.  Well before  any embargo date or other information on TaylorMade came out.

Mizuno as well as Titleist usually has a gap between their "first look" period and the time that specs and details are out, and then pricing and ordering as well.

The dates may have been different from previous years, but the process not so much.

Tours remind me of one of my fav clubs, Bstone J15 CB with thiner sole.

Did you notice any "jumpers" from your demo w/Forged or did they play true to expected numbers vs. strike? What shaft did you go with. Any comments on feel?
