Current best swing in golf

For my money, the baton was passed from Ernie Els to Hunter Mahan to Louis Oosthuizen. Who is next in line?

I like Oosthuizen's the best currently as well. It is relaxed. I don't like the taut/stretched positions that seem forced and mechanical.

As far as based on results? These past couple weeks I go with Im. It's not the prettiest, but it's damn sure working.

The thing I don't like about Im is the slow take away. Just doesn't look right to me. I think Matsuyama does it better.

True. But that flight, man. I was at API on Sat and watched him on the range. He was getting comments from some other pros nearby. Literally on a laser from his LW thru his driver. And the dude hits it a mile, and very high with his long irons.

But yeah, not prettiest move. His countryman Kang cracks me up. I can't figure out what his swing looks like, it's different every time.

But my favorites are Jack, Johnny Miller and Colin Montgomerie (who has the most beautiful swing to ever grace this planet imho)

That level (Monty, above) of ease/relaxation is a rare thing.

Bobby Jones had it. Sam Snead had it. Payne Stewart had it.

Els and Oostie have it.

Beau Hossler's swing reminds me of Monty's a bit. Not quite as smooth, but the same high classic flowing finished position.

Going for someone less obvious than my all-time favourites (Rory, Adam Scott etc.) I think Mike Lorenzo-Vera have a very nice swing. I also always really liked the swing of Noh Seung-yul.

The best current swing is the one that wins. So, Tyrell Hatton is the most current. There's no other way to quantify the best current swing.

That's a bad take. There is clearly something to be said for players with a simple move through the ball with what appears to be minimal effort, while at the same time achieving high swing speed and great impact position. As for your pizza analogy, have you not had food from different restaurants with varying degrees of ingredient quality and variations on recipes?

I'm surprised with people mentioning Els and Montgomerie, that no one added Fred Couples to the conversation. Effortless, like liquid velvet if there was such a thing. And his swing on the Champions Tour still looks like it did 25 years ago...

Steve Elkington had the sweetest looking swing in the later modern era IMO. But that’s not answering the op’s question. Currently, I like Louie and Rory.

Rory. Best driver of the ball for a reason. Super sound swing. Great balance of power to it. Solid top position and great legs. The guy is 5'9"and crushes it.

I like Elk a lot too. Was focusing on more current players. I'd go with Louie because that swing is going to hold up over time. Guys like Rory and JT are very powerful, but violent and hard on the body.

Frank Nobilo's was pretty good back in the day. What about Anne Van Dam? Her swing looks really solid.

Depends on you want the best swing or the best looking swing....I think Jon Rahm has a great swing.

Big fan of the way JT swings it as well.

You didn't define best. Best for what. Winning? Pretty? Easiest to copy? Winning swings are easily picked out. Pretty or effortless is subjective.

Tiger has a winning swing and it's pleasing to watch.. So, Tiger is my answer.
