I was wondering if there way any consensus on which iteration of the AP2's golfers preferred? Was there any one model that seemed to be more popular than others?

I still prefer the 714’s and I’ve had them all. But it’s a personal preference, I’ve played them the longest and just love their feel. Can’t go wrong with any of them in my opinion.

I like the 716. I wanted any set that had the TT DG AMT White s300 so it was 716 or 718 for me. Seems like most people preferred the 714, but I bet any set is good as long as you find a set with the desired shafts.

Improved sole design and top line of 718 makes it by far the best. Lots of tour guys still in those over T100.

I did a ton of research before buying my 718 AP2's a little over a year ago. The consensus then was the the 718's were the best but certainly still lots of guys that preferred earlier versions. Like everything, best thing is to hit them for yourself if possible. If you aren't in a major market, the good news is these are basically fully depreciated so if you find a set used (and don't ridiculously overpay), you shouldn't get hurt too bad on reselling them.

I still have the OG 2008 ap2. They are going into their 11th season. They are absolutely destroyed but here in Canada a new set of Titleist are 1700 plus tax so onward we go.

I had the 716s, I liked them for a while but just went to the cb620. Ive got a set of 6-pw for sale soon!

I also had the 712 and hit my dads originals. to me the 716 was the best feeling and got throught the turf the best.

I'm still playing the 716s. Was tempted by the 718s when they came out, but too hard to justify given the all around performance of the 716s.

Haven't played the 712 or the 718... but I am currently on my 4th set of 710s. Don't know what it is about them but I have always enjoyed them. 716 were the best feeling to me and the 714 were actually my least favorite. Great looking but never got along with them at all, I have no idea why and I tried those 3 times. Just figured the 712 were a rebadged 710, not a bad thing, just not worth the extra coin at the time. I'd love to get a set of 718s at some point to test out, I love that leading edge grind... wish all my irons had that.

When I tested the 718 I thought they were the best version to date. Felt really good and solid. As @Nixhex524 said, the updated leading edge grind is awesome. I played 714 for a season and enjoyed them as well. To me the 718 really brought together some good things from past versions and married them with some characteristics of previous cb models. Hard to beat that. Just wish the offset was a little less.

I've played the 710s until recently. Great clubs but the DG S300 shaft was a bit too heavy for me in the longer irons. Made the switch to 718 AP2 with AMT white and am digging them. The heads don't feel -vastly- different to me, but a bit more forgiving and easier to hit in the longer irons. Probably could have simply switched shafts on my existing set, but felt like something new!

I think that the 714's were the best IMO. If my set had shafts better suited for me, I would still be playing them.

IMO they're all great clubs going back to the 710's. My personal favorites were the 716 series.

Played the 712 for many years, great club. I think the differences set to set aren’t so massive to mandate a switch. I’ve played others (714, 718) while traveling, and hard to really tell difference. Shafts changes much easier to feel.

I played 714, 716, and 718. Honestly hated the 716 and went through several shaft changes and still never got along with them. 718 was easily my favorite.

Been playing the 714's since they released. Ive had no reason to invest in new irons. I love them and how they still perform
