Looking for a gap wedge that is like my MP-18 MB PW

Basically, I want the same shape and profile as my 46* PW in a 50, no grind, bounce options. I love to chip with my PW, I feel I can really pick it clean, vs my T20-54*. Also I want to hit full shots and the clunky sand-wedge type heads don't work as well for me. Is Hogan the only company to do this, making blade-type gap wedges?

The only set GW in a blade I can think of is Apex MB

T-20 and SM8 might be your best bet?! Just find the right bound grind that fits for what you want/need. Getting the properly fit wedge may surprise you?!

gonna need a gap wedge with little to no offset and hardly any bounce. maybe get a 52* wedge that has 8 degrees bounce, bend it 2* strong to 50*, reducing the bounce to 6*???

I had a Callaway Apex MB GW and it was fantastic. Also the Cobra King Forged MB GW is another option. You could also get yourself another PW and bend it 4* weak. Would add some bounce but Mizuno is already fairly low bounce so you should be fine.

I have mp18 and use the hogan equalizer wedges and think they are great with the mizunos

Bending a 52/8 to a 50 would reduce bounce but would increase the offset. OP is looking for similar offset to his existing PW

my sm6 wedges were a good match in shape for my 18 mmc pw.

Most of the PW’s from Mizuno that are 10 years or older are 48 degree some maybe 49. Perhaps you can pick up a something and bend it.

I believe the Mizuno MP-14’s PW was 50 degrees ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Good point. I always forget about the offset aspect of bending irons for loft.

The Mizuno T20 46 and MP 20 PW are supposed to be nearly identical according to Chris Voshall and the T20 blade length gets progressively longer as the loft goes up. T20 has to be your best bet here.

I've been looking for an older MP, but hard to find one with decent grooves. It seems the Apex MB is the closest contender, for now, but hard to tell over the internet.

I just picked up a T20 50* with a shaft that matches my irons, Modus 120 so I'll give it a go. Going to have to put colored stickers on my wedges. They are all chrome and I've pulled my 60 instead of 54 way too many times now.

Not a bad idea, but the MP-33 PW is from 1999 and 48* at 6* bounce. Need to go further back I guess. The newer PWs are less bulky though, OP might not like that look of the older MP wedges.

Since others have mentioned the JPX 919 GW I took a photo of mine compared to my MP-20 MB PW.. which should be close to the MP-18 MB in size..

What is the maximum bounce you desire?

I have a 52 degree MP-R from 20007’ and it’s bounce is 07, if it’s bent to 50 the bounce would be 5 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
