Mizuno T20 Wedges

Recommended Posts

I’m thinking about pulling the trigger on some new T20 wedges soon in the raw finish. I’m looking at 45, 50, 54, 58. Any feedback you can give me from playing these wedges since they were released 6 months ago?

I put the 50 in my bag as a gap wedge for my HMB set. Really like it so far. Considering replacing my 54 Vokey.

I'm loving my T20's 50,54,60 in C-Grind. Good feel with perfect turf interaction and perform in wet conditions. I didn't go with the 46* as the MP20 MB PW is very similar and suits me better. I can

Loving mine, used them all year so far... They patina nicely

They are good. Little thick on the top line but they feel pretty soft and perform well.

I have the 5209 and the 5812. I played the vokey 60k and I wish I had the lower bounce 58. The camber on the sole is not to my liking on the 58, but the 52 is fine.

Thanks guys! I’m thinking of just keeping my set JPX 919 forged PW since I only hit full shots with that club. Also, I will probably go with the 50.07 and 54.08 in T20s and get a Vokey SM8 58.08 because I like the M grind for a LW.

Love mine. Have 52, 56, 60.... very easy to flight down the 52 and the 56 has been very versatile from everywhere. For me I do think they spin more than other wedges ive gamed. Before these I had the TM milled grind 2 and had no complaints with them at all. I bought new mizuno irons so I wanted my wedges to match the irons. It took only 1 round for me to forget about the TM wedges.... Also I dont know if they're different but the T20's have an M grind also. My 60 is great around the green for tight pins and sand shots

I'm loving my T20's 50,54,60 in C-Grind. Good feel with perfect turf interaction and perform in wet conditions. I didn't go with the 46* as the MP20 MB PW is very similar and suits me better. I can't get Raw as a lefty, but they look really good for guys I've seen who have them. I'd try them out at a fitting or demo before you order. There is an M Grind option with more bounce that might suit your needs. Great thing is that they're heavy like a Vokey, so you can grind them a little. Just request a heavier head than std as MIzuno sorts them in their warehouse for builds to specific SW. You can also no upcharge some great shafts and grips.

Not as soft as the T7 line IMO, but just as good. In all honesty I went with Mizuno wedge again because they offer S400 as the stock offering. Otherwise, I may have tried something else out. I tend to switch wedges every year if I can find new ones at a discounted rate. Usually stick to Mizuno/TM/Titleist. As long as you get your preferred bounce, they're top notch!

Great wedges. Not as soft as previous models but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I find the feel more crisp and get better feedback that way. The weighting is perfect and the shape inspires a ton of confidence. Only thing that will take these out of my bag are the new fourteen wedges if they come to retail haha.

If your comparing them to the MP20 MB or most any other Mizuno MB, the T20 definitely feels harder, not clicky, but definitely doesn’t have that soft/dense feel.

They do however feel better than most all the other cast wedges on the market.

Just my experience, but I typically find the T series heads to feel firmer than the S series. But the T series also has far straighter lines and leading edge, which many players like, while I prefer the rounded toe and I like a slight curve in the leading edge. I find it easier to slightly raise the leading edge and use the bounce to get under the ball with those, as opposed to thinning or blading the ball with the straight leading edge.

So, S5 and S18 both outstanding wedges for me.

I Have the 56/10 its solid (not raw, satin chrome) . Not clicky at al,very pure and soft. the M grind is so playable. I will be upgrading my 60 too(TVD sm5 M grind), first thing ive found to kick it out of the bag. As far as the top line being thick,it doesn't look that way from address, but when you see it from behind i can see how you that would be said and how it might be hard to get that out of your head (only negative,if there is one).

Keep in mind the S400 shafts with Z Cords don’t offer much in the way of vibration dampening.

Put the T20 58 in play today.  Soft feeling and the turf interaction was unbelievable from rough and tight fairway.

Have the T20 in 50 degrees and Vokey SM8s in 54 and 58. Have been comparing them because I would like to go all Mizzy or all Titleist.

So far, with chipping, the T20 wins for performance. It feels sleeker and more nimble than the Vokeys, which feel very solid but heavy and a little clunkier in terms of turf interaction. Feel on these short shorts is about equal (different but equal). Neither feels anything like my MP20 blade PW, but they are both fine.

On longer pitches up to full shots, the edge goes to Vokey. They feel more thud-y and solid. Very consistent off the face. The T20 is good but feels is less satisfying -- more high pitched. I wouldn't say clicky, because they still feel nice on center strikes, but it's just a different sound and not quite as solid sounding/feeling. I was also not quite getting the distance I was looking for, but I still need to do some more testing.

I'm not a fan of rusty wedges, but as rusty wedges go, those look great. Love the custom ferules, too.

After three months and roughly 30 rounds with the 56/14 and 60/10, I like them, but I preferred the softer feel of the S5.
Performance has been great, though, and especially spinny, low chips around the green are just magic. Easy to control the ball and lots of confidence.
Pitches from 50m in are fine, I’m just not very good at those yet, but the one hop stop works equally well as runout shots.
Full shots, I have to pass on a verdict, as my swing is under construction and there’s too much variance going on right now.
They look great in the bag and in my hands, and the S400 TI is perfect for me.

I forgot to mention spin. T20 spins more than SM8. Not by huge margins but noticeably and consistently.

I am loving the T20s.  I feel like they are the softest wedges I have ever played.  Distances are consistent and spin is phenomenal...  took a chance on a set after playing vokeys for so long and I am not looking back.  Playing lower bounces this time around and they are working out nicely on the firmer lies I am seeing lately.  If conditions are a little softer, I just open it a tad.  I dont think I have ever felt so confident over short chips and pitches.  Fantastic wedges!
