Looks like the dog is playing goalie! If your dog is like our animals, it probably moved from being out of the way and sat there just when you grabbed your club to hit a few. Ours stay out of they way until I want to practice a little. Then our one outside cat will lay on the putting green right in the line or chase down the rolling ball before it gets to the cup. The dog will lay either right in front of the chipping mat or on the green when I am trying to hit wedge shots to it.

We rescued her about 6 years ago. The day we brought her home, she saw my golf bag in the office and laid down next to it. Every day since, she'll only sleep where my bag is, so I have to move it between the two couches she likes. When I golf, I need to grab my back up bag for her. No idea why she does this but I find it endearing.

This net (Rukket) is easy to build and break down. Only about 2-3 minutes. So after I put it up each day, she waits for me to bring the bag out and she watches me hit balls.

I just joined a new club that is dog friendly. I'm anxious to get her on the course.

def a thought, but we are going wall-free for now and wanna maintain the outdoor feel. Plus we don’t really need a shed, just a useless justification to my wife

almost done...remove concrete-set supports, add a roof, and then stain

I'm just going to build a shed. No chance of golf balls being hit.

Net was $80 off eBay, pads were left over from granddaughter's playground build.

My inexpensive setup. Bought some PVC piping from Ace Hardware, a $50 net from Amazon, strung it up with some speaker wire, and got a used mat from a local range. I've really enjoyed having it to go hit balls whenever I want!

The hitting net finally got here Thursday and I got it hung up yesterday (Golf High Impact, 10 x 14, floridanetcompany.com - $92 delivered w/ extra clips). I used the door opening on the pole barn so I didn't have to build a frame. I have it attached to a rafter on one side and the door on the other. In the middle it has spring clips that are hanging on a rod. When I open the door it pulls the net, clips slide on the rod like a shower curtain to the open position. The plan is on nice days the mat is outside, bad days move the mat inside. The mat is 8 yo so it may be time to splurge for a new mat.

nothing new here, but a little tinkering with mat placement. Simple, yes, but arguably worthy of a bit more introspect. Note the rod placements. The horizontal line would be your clubhead path (or parallel) going straight back. If you have proper turn/body rotation, your hands should trace the angle of the second rod automatically. This also could be a check for Jim Waldron's Arm Swing Allusion instruction. Since this photo was taken, I moved the horizontal rod to be in direct line with the club head take away and made the angled rod placement to the proper relationship. It can also help insure an inside to out swing especially if you incorporate a little "lay off" in the backswing. The third rod is optional but is intended to mark the center of your stance. The second mat is also optional as long as you grip down a half inch or so to compensate for the difference in ground level and the raised ball position. (Not sure if it really makes that much of a difference, but for some, it may). Of course this all very basic, but I point it out as many things we do are taken for granted, but for some, a detailed analysis of what is really happening is helpful. As for the net, I have posted many iterations in the past so will not repeat them here. Nothing that a little 1 1/2 inch PVC and connectors can't
