If you call them they are able to access more shafts then what the website reflects. It would be worth a shot to see what they say.

I see they have added some additional no upcharge stiff shafts for the gen 2 driver on the site which has removed my excuses not to order it.

Gonna give them a call tomorrow, but does anyone know how decent they are regarding swing weight? If I request D2, will they do a pretty good job based on experience?

Also, will they ship them with the grips in the box vs installing them?

I requested both of those things on my order that is in process. Rep said they generally build to D1 SW, but can build to D2 SW or close to it. And no issue with shipping the grips in the box uninstalled.

One word of caution, I ordered mine at standard SW D1, I believe, but asked for the grips to be put in the box rather than installed. I checked the swingweights after I installed my usual MCC align and they were pretty light- around C9/D0. I’m guessing that Lamkin grip is lighter than average or maybe they swing weighted it without a grip?

 

also- to anyone that wants to defend the box and presentation: you’re basically paying extra for the joy of opening the package. It is impressive. It’s also still sitting in my basement taking up space. I much prefer the simple Ping box- lean and effective and reusable! Just being practical here.

Anyone know if PXG measures their driver club lengths the same as Titleist? Trying to determine if I should order the Gen 2 driver at standard or shorter/longer to get it the same as my 45 inch Titleist 917 driver.

Thanks for the info guys. Just ordered a 6i 0211 with an MMT 80, if all works out, I’ll order the rest. Grip uninstalled, they said they’d try to get to D2, but may be difficult with the MMT at -1/2”. I really appreciated the knowledge of the young lady on the phone. Refreshing when talking with someone that knows what you are saying when talking about this stuff.

Eddie, I’d suggest you just call and ask about what you’d be looking for. They are super easy to work with and was going to be too much write it all down and retype (With all the variations of weight and flex). They are open 7 days a week for over 12 hrs a day I think.

PXG can dial in swingweights on the forged series irons with all the screw in weights on the back perimeter of the iron heads. Not sure they can do as well with with the 0211 cast irons.

I ordered a set of 4-SW with Nippon 950 Shafts, plus +1, standard Lamkin grips. PXG indicated swingweights would be D2, possibly D3. The actual, measured swingweight numbers are:

4I = D5, 5I = D5, 6I = D5, 7I = D5, 8I = D5, 9I = D5.5, PW = D6, GW = D7, SW = D9

They are limited with what they can do on the 0211, it’s essentially a regular iron head. One of the selling points of the 0311 is the screws. It’s always a challenge for me playing 1/2” short irons. Winn actually makes a decent light grip. That gets me back up when it needs to be (sometimes a little more).

I don’t know man. The box really livens up the the rafters in my garage.

It also gives a nice home to the set they replaced just in case I have to go back to them. You can also use the box for path drills. $60 for shipping a presentation sucks, but you can make the best of it.

Agree, guessing they spec the head weights for the 0211 and probably get consistent numbers. PXG doesn’t list SW specs for 0211 but they do for the forged 3 series. Subtracting 6 SW points (+1 inch = 6SW points) from my set of 0211s, puts them nearly dead on to standard 03 specs.

The overall clubweight for for my 0211s feels great, so no real issue with the SW numbers.

That is a good idea and something i haven't considered for some reason- ordering a single iron. I usually get fit but im itching for new irons and these seem like a good deal. I play z565 with dynamic golds and im thinking of ordering a 7 iron with the dynamic gold 120 to try out

My buddy thought shipping for a single club was $60 but is it $30? I am doing an experiment and went 4-LW 0211 with Steelfiber i95 R flex because of tennis elbow and every S flex graphite is boardy to me. My current 0211 set and the Vokeys to match are over in BST instead of re-shafting them with the Steelfibers. I gotta say the Z5 grips arent that bad at all. Whats the problem with them? They are much better than I thought they would be. Anyway I just got an email to look out for them soon!

Grips are a personal preference but nothing wrong with the Lamkin Z5 grips

Some 10g tip weights really helped me. I'm .5 short and was around c9 with everything I had in my bag.
