What are some of the best head / aftermarket shaft combinations you have seen specifically for the SIM Driver and SIMTi? A little info about me: SS ~118-124mph with a full back swing, moderate transition, mid to mid-late release. Any general info would be helpful, of course any technical information is appreciated as well

Hey Taylormade - Just would like to Thank You guys for finally adding back in the Lefty 7 wood & 5 hybrid. Took a while & was starting to lose hope. Glad to see them back. I'm sure other lefty players would agree. Well done!

I recently purchased a SIM 10.5 so I could turn it down a bit and open the face which I have done but I am curious about the sliding weight position. Where at in the track is considered "neutral"? Is it in relation to the center of the face, the center of the track, the center of the three "bumps" etc? And I realize all mileage may vary but generally speaking how much do you need to move it to see a change in ball flight?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Stay Tuned...

No real question from me, more so just a small gripe. I do wish TM would really consider expanding their line of iron shaft offerings. At some point, I may want to replace my irons, and being a bit of a traditionalist, the P7s would make sense for more than one reason (play the VR blades currently). Unfortunately, paying for a set of irons only to have to immediately re-shaft shaft them is a little bit absurd in my opinion. I'm not saying that carrying every shaft line that has been produced in the last 30 years is the way to go, but at least maintain the offerings for what the shaft OEMs are producing currently.

Either that, or adapt to some change and let folks purchase heads only through TM accounts. Require club making certificates of some sort, give us a test to make sure we're competent...I don't really care...just don't make it so difficult/expensive just to purchase a new set of irons. If fittings are so important, let us have the ability to not have to choose something that doesn't work the best for us.

There, off my soap box. :)

As would I! I bought the P7TW irons last year with Tiger lofts. Just last week, a very good builder and friend was looking at them and determined that they are soft-stepped. An equally good builder confirmed. In my case, it's a happy accident as I don't know that I truly have the speed for X100s straight in.
No grumbling here, but, could we get an explanation @TaylorMade Golf

JJgolfwrx - Obviously there are a lot of factors in play here when it comes to the best combo for you. In general, the shaft combos I've seen popular so far with faster clubhead speeds such as yours are the Fujikura Ventus Blue & Black with Velocore, Graphite Design XC, & HZRDUS Smoke (Yellow, Black, & Green). Ultimately, it depends on your launch conditions which would be best for you.

Question for Freddy. Earlier you mentioned the Taylormade Performance Center at Pebble Beach. Is this the one specifically at Poppy Hills? I was fit for my M4 there. During the M5/6 launch, from what I understand, there was some question about the facility moving forward. Again, probably water down third, fourth, or fifth, hand info. If so, and you are fully stocked and running, I will be booking the first appointment available once you are back up and running again after the Coronacation. I was thoroughly impressed and walking out with your custom made club the same day is an off the charts bonus!

Thanks,

Jason

Drvrwdge - "Neutral" position on the SIM driver is indeed in the center of the three "bumbs." These are on there for airflow, however they also provide a point of reference for the sliding weight. Typically half way either way changes ball flight, but you are correct, depends on the golfer.

Enjoy your SIM!!

Richardbegun - Glad you're enjoying your SIM 3 wood! I would think you would be fine translating your shaft into a SIM 5 wood (most people I fit end up in the same shaft). If possible, depending on the shaft you are using I would recommend going up in shaft weight slightly.

I have M6 rocket 3W Project X Black 75 X -stiff = I love this thing - Basically wondering what the difference would be in terms of turf interactions and other finer points like that between the M6 and the Sim Ti rocket.

What differences should I expect to see? I swing my 3W at 107 BTW

Also use this club from off the tee to approaches on par 5's

Thanks in advance

I bought a Sim Max 12 degree driver with Diamana stiff flex shaft, open all the way up to play like 10 degree. Club speed 105, ball 148, launch 17, spin 2200 and carry 260.

Awesome result but if I want to try some more custom shaft option, what will you recommed?

Magmatt - One of the biggest differences would indeed be improved turf interaction due to V-Steel technology. Another difference you should see is increased ball speed due to the new Titanium face (ZATECH). Also, SIM Ti is our lowest projecting CG fairway wood ever, making it really easy to launch from all conditions. All-in-all, I think you'll love the new SIM Ti!

Regarding P7600's:

1) When is the update being dropped?

2) Will you guys ever do a "smoke" finish similar to Apex?

Sry if you answered this already, there's many posts in the thread.

Hey @TaylorMade Golf I'm a lefty.
2 part question.
1. When could a lefty get some P730/P7TW and UDI in left hand. Please??
2. Is there a plan to release a 46° or 48° milled grind wedge? This would be a nice addition to tighten up the wedges.
P.s I play p770, MG wedges 52,56,60 (looking for get a 46-48) spider putter and M6 series woods. Needless to say I'm a big fan and supporter. I just need those missing links.

Thanks for your time and be safe.

@Z1ggy16 Great question on the P760's.  As of right now there is no updated 760 officially at this time. However, go back and read some of the responses from Freddy V. In previous 760 responses. Particularly the response to @Redjeep83. Something could be on the horizon.

@Gorlu52 Pretty loaded question there. There are a lot of moving parts when it comes to how weight and swing weight are correlated. It really depends on what the desired swingweight would be. So our SIM drivers are standardized at D4. If you are looking to replace the shaft with a back-weighted or counterbalanced shaft, you would need to increase weight in the head just to get the driver back to that desired swingweight. How much weight? That might be more of a trial and error process until you get the feel you want.

Hopefully this helps!

If you compared a ‘16 m2 driver ... which I still have ... to the new SIM stuff how would you convince me to change?

ball speed, forgiveness etc

I find so many heads too low spin for me Nowadays

I’m a 109 mph .. plus 3 aoa... 14 launch guy

the simulator in DESTIN FL had me spinning 1700 with the green smoke. I had knuckle issues w the SLDR as well

looking for 2100 or 2200 and more speed than my 400lst
