@ram01002 Great question! That is purely player dependent. Out in the field when we are doing fittings, we take multiple factors into consideration. Not only to give the player the best and Most consistent launch data, but also the ball flight he or she is looking for. Craft a narrative for what you want to achieve with your ball flight and then dial in your SIM accordingly to achieve that.

I was recently fitted with the P 760's with KBS $taper lite R shafts. My objective is to add some length to the long end of my set while preserving height so considering a combo with a 4 and 5 iron in P 790. Should I bend the 790's weak or the 760's strong? Should I also use the same $taper shaft?

7 iron ss is about 80 mph

@ProjectX_Mizuno I have wondered the same thing! Currently I do not know of any plans for a center shaft release. With that being said I would lean more towards it being a future possibility then not.

I've been gaming the p790 2019 irons and love them. I would love for the 8-pw to be a little smaller and easier to flight down. Have you guys considered a combo set built off a combo of the p760 and p790? Start with a smaller pw in the 760 size range and a bit narrower sole. Have the set progressively get a little larger and more forgiving. So you'd eventually have the p790 size mid to long irons. The Taylormade p7 combo irons. Thanks!

There was one in the vault awhile ago. Occasionally you see it on eBay. It was face balanced. If it had toe hang I would have picked it up. Hopefully in the future

@Rod17 Thank you for supporting the Brand! Based off what you are saying I would more then likely weaken the 790’s and stick with your c-taper lite Regular flex shafts. If you like your current trajectory and ball flight with your 760’s 6-pw for instance, do not change those. Because the 790’s will want you launch lower and generate more ball speed, we recommend keeping the 790 4 iron at std loft and then weakening the 5 iron 1 degree. This should give you a good blend.

Are you fitting many players into graphite iron shafts and if so why? What are your thoughts on the Mitsubishi MMT and Recoil Proto iron shafts for a replacement to project x 6.0 steel?

@J13 we don’t pure any shafts out on tour. If a player wants that service, they will bring shafts to the truck that have been pured already to have built or they will grab a head from the guys on the truck and build in their respective shaft trailer.

I was fitted into Project X LZ 6.0. I have an aggressive transition and late release so they've helped tremendously in getting my ball flight up. I'm looking to go with something lighter due to an elbow injury so it's less taxing on my body. Graphite isn't out of the question. Any recommendations for a similar profile shaft that will achieve similar results with my swing characteristics in a lighter package?

@anthony007 The MMT is the stock graphite in the P790ti and flat out performs. We are seeing this shaft make its way into the 2019 P790 as well. We offer the the recoil 110 in stiff only but not the Proto. BUT I play the Proto 125 F5 in my P750's and love them. It was an easy switch from x-100 and Nippon 120X. I have elbow tendinitis and it has never hurt since switching to graphite. I have seen zero performance differences from the previous shafts mentioned.

@luckypolk I would say the Nippon 950 and aerotech i95 could be close as long as the spin doesn't creep on ya. The nippon 105 could be the ticket if the 95 is too light and spins too much. The Recoil 110 could also be good, but that is just a hair lighter. See if any of these are available the next time you look to get fit!

We are building alot of these for the guys on tour to test and try out. Its always tough to get guys to switch during the season. That said I would think alot of the guys that have them are doing some serious testing and would not be surprised to see a few more make their way on tour when they resume...
