PXG 0311 ST Iron - Player Feedback

Looking for reviews on this iron from the community.

Who’s playing? Did you combo with Gen3 T model? Shaft choice etc.

If I remember correctly "BIRDIEBOB" played these for quite some time. May want to do a search for his post and thoughts on these.

I no longer have these, but they were excellent blades with good turf interaction and performance like one would expect from a blade.

Why did I sell? I found the finish to be less than expected and I was seeing marks on them with very limited use...not the face so much but the none face areas looked terrible after only a short while.

Hope the GEN3 are not as bad.

Here is an example...no idea how this occurred...not just this iron, seeing these type of marks on several.......Dumped them and now have the TW blades with no such marks occurring.

Never played golf with these....just hit them a few times off a range mat and turf! Have never had this type of issue with iron finish and I have had several dozen!

Yikes no what'd you expect for the price. I'd also argue that in a blade where "tech" isn't as effective, money could be much better spent elsewhere. I'm sure the performance of the TW is no different from the ST really. I realize that if you're buying these price isn't a massive consideration, but the fact that you could buy two sets of Blueprint and a set of G410 woods for the same price is a bit of a red flag for me.

Wow!

did you raise a quality control issue perhaps with PXG? Was the finish different to the milled wedges? Which I thought had quite a good quality finish...

I did not see this on my milled wedges. I had the xtreme dark finish on them and that finish did not hold up well, since if it was thick enough it would have filled in the milling marks.

I bought 7-PW in the ST in the early fall last year. I have played about 10 rounds with them. I am a 7 HC so I guess you could argue that I shouldn't be playing these but I really like them. They do play like a blade but there is some forgiveness as well. I had played Miura blades awhile back and these are easier to hit than those. Two reasons that I like these. They feel unreal. Very solid but soft feel off the face, just fun to hit. The second reason is that I can flight these down if needed. When I have played other irons that have more help I have a hard time not sending the ball into the air instead of a lower trajectory. I also feel like I have more distance control with these irons too. So, maybe three reasons to have them.

I have 5-6 iron PXG gen 1 0311 to compete the irons. I may switch those out to Gen 3 but I hit them pretty well so why change now.

I have had zero issues with the finish on these, they still look great.
