NXFKYLSO0MTH.pngHey GolfWRX’ers – We hope everyone is doing well and staying at home and staying safe during this unprecedented and challenging time.

We at Fujikura want to use this time to chat with you and share some knowledge that may be valuable to you. This is an extremely difficult time for all of us so we want you to know we're in this together and we'll get through it soon enough. We want to get back on the course soon just like you, but in the interim we hope we are able to chat with you and answer some questions and keep our minds on the game we love. We were inspired by our friends at TaylorMade starting their “AUA” thread (here) so we’re creating our own.

We have looped in our Tour fitters as well as our marketing & product experts to participate in the Q&A and help answer your questions. Please feel free to use this as an opportunity to ask us anything, it does not have to be just about shafts or specs. Also, please let us know how you’re doing during this tough time – how are you trying to keep your game in shape? or what golf content are you watching on YouTube? Things like that!

Also, if you’re looking for some reading material about Fuji and how we design and make shafts, check out the education section on our website: https://fujikuragolf.com/education#shaft-university maybe some of this will inspire questions that we can address here.

And if you haven't checked out our roundtable with Johnny Wunder and Brian Knudson, click here to watch on youtube:

Thanks for chatting with us and we hope to hear from you. Also please follow us on Instagram and twitter and you can engage with us there also.

Sincerely,

The Fujikura Team

Can you help me understand the difference between the Ventus Red, Blue and Black shafts?

What kind of launch, spin differences do you see between them?

Is the black a shaft that only the fastest, high launching guys should game?

My ball speeds are in the high 150's. I'm also a high launch but super low spin player. Would that put me in the Blue Ventus in theory?

I've been super tempted to invest in a Ventus blue 6X.

Looking at hybrid shafts, how does the Pro 2.0 TS series differ from the Atmos line of Hybrid. Also, is there any chance that you will bring back a heavier version 100 gr. weight?

Hello!

Thanks for taking the time to reply to questions!

I was just fit into Fujikura Pro 2.0 Tour Spec 6X for my Driver and the 8X for my fairway woods. I was curious what the difference between Pro 2.0 Tour Spec and Ventus Black would be?

What does the EI curve look like for both? I really enjoy the stable feeling of Pro 2.0 TS, but I’ve also heard great things about Ventus Black!

Thanks!

Our team in Japan has been producing the MCI Putter shaft for the past few years. It is actually a rubber composite shaft which comes in 2 flexes (the softer flex was their best seller for awhile, if you can believe that!) and it dampens the vibration. It is quite amazing actually - it makes a milled putter feel like it has a soft insert. Fujikura began as a rubber company and still has subsidiaries producing products across many industries.

check it out: https://www.fujikurashaft.jp/material/old_mcimch/mc_putter/

We have discussed offering these in the states, but never quite saw any high demand from our dealers. I am sure we could special order them though.

Thanks for doing this. I have read multiple times that there is no such thing as a high launch low spin driver shaft, and that makes perfect sense. For someone with a smooth transition and a driver clubhead speed in the 103-108 range and is 6'3", what shaft would recommend to maximize a higher trajectory while keeping the spin in the 1900-2200 range?

Thanks!

They align with our color coded launch profile. Red being the highest launching and spinning of the 3. They are all pretty close with launch and spin, maybe 200 rpm difference between them?

The red and black have stiffest handle sections. The Blue and black have stiffest tip sections

Red or blue could work well for you certainly.ATMOS Tour Spec Blue would be a great option. https://fujikuragolf.com/hybrids/atmos-ts-hybridYes we are working from home. Feel free to email [email protected] or just send us a private message through the forum. Apologies for our delay.

PRO 2.0 TS is similar to ATMOS TS Blue HB (in the same weight/flex) but the PRO 2.0 is a little softer in the tip section and launches higher by about .5 degree and spins about 200 rpm more.We tested a tour only prototype version, but there are no plans to continue with it nor offer in the aftermarket. You should not be having issues with ventus black unless you're doing something crazy with length or grip or adding weight to the head. The whole Ventus lineup is slightly counterbalanced so you should not have any swingweight issues that an experienced builder could not compensate for. Any questions for us about matching swing weights are near impossible for us to precisely help with over the internet without all of the details (grip, length, etc). We always recommend visiting one of our charter dealers to get clubs built properly and to your liking: https://fujikuragolf.com/dealer-locator

Thanks for doing this @Fujikura Golf! What newer Fuji offering most closely resembles the Speeder Evo II? Also what was the reason for the Evo IV/Evo VI profile to be so drastically different from the Evo I, II, III, and V profiles? And what was the reason for releasing a non-VeloCore version of Ventus for OEM? Is there any other way to tell the difference between the two versions than the "VeloCore" stamping near tip?

Is the Pro 2.0 TS driver (wood) shaft also comparable to the ATMOS TS Black driver (wood) shaft (as you mentioned for the hybrids)?

Is the ATMOS TS Black and Blue shafts which are painted black (For Cobra, I believe?) but have 'Tour Spec' on them (unlike the Mizuno shafts from the ST190 which do not say this) the same exact shaft as the 'aftermarket upgrade' shaft just in black instead of white?

If I play an ATMOS TS Black in driver - Pro 2.0 Blue in 5 wood - and Pro 2.0 blue in Hybrid - what should I play in my 3 wood? ATMOS TS Blue or another Pro 2.0 Blue?

What shaft is being produced as the 'Ventus Blue' for the SIM line of Taylormade products. Is it basically the old Pro 1.0?

The Blue and Black utilize the same tip section because we couldn't go any stiffer however, the blue is softer in the handle + mid section. This allows the Blue to launch slightly higher with 100-200rpm's of added spin. Ventus Red has the same handle stiffness as black with a much softer tip allowing for a higher launch and spin. Ventus black isn't only for the high swing speeds. You could have a lower swing speed with an aggressive transition causing the shaft to bend significantly from the top. A stiffer handle (Ventus Black) could retain the load allowing for more stored energy before impact. Launch + Spin in our catalog are only a recommendation backed by data collected. I've seen specific swing types hit a lower launching shaft higher because the shaft is extremely stout and they feel they have to help it in the air. The best option would be to see a Fujikura Charter Dealer in your area to go through the fitting process because its hard to fit you for a shaft without seeing the numbers. You can find an authorized charter dealer on our website. www.fujikuragolf.com

The Speeder 904 HB was an amazing profile that had success not only on tour but in the aftermarket. With advancements in material and design we've been able to create more concentric shafts that work extremely well with newer heads. That last few years on the PGA Tour Fujikura has won the HB count almost every week with our Atmos lineup of shafts. Atmos Black 95 HB would be a similar weight and has a stiff handle, mid, and tip section. It's a lower launching + spinning profile with incredible feel and accuracy. I recommend trying this in replacement of the Speeder 904 because we no longer make this design.

Atmos Red, Blue, and Black are most similar in terms of design and specs to the Motore Speeder .1, .2, and .3. Atmos Blue - .1, Atmos Black .2, and Atmos Red .3 in terms of launch + spin. If you've never tried the Ventus lineup, I highly recommend it. We introduced VeloCore technology in our Ventus lineup which promotes center face contact and eliminates twisting through impact. We've seen faster ball speeds as well as improved accuracy. Also, we kept the color coding similar with Red launch high, Blue launching Mid, and Black being low. See a Charter Dealer in your area to give them a test drive!
