Junior Coaches / Instructors

Looking for some feedback on who the best junior golf instructors are out there that might be a little less known. US or International doesn't matter.

Obviously everyone is familiar with James Jordan here. He has done some great stuff with the group of kids he works with and has a tight bond with many of them. Up in Canada I hear about Colin Bykowski a lot. Don't know much about him other than his one student that won US Kids Worlds last year.

And can we not get this post locked by arguing please?

My daughter works with Jordan Dempsey at the TPC Sawgrass. He has been in the top golf teachers under 40 and recently won the North Florida PGA section teacher of the year. He has students on the PGA and European tours. He also coaches several college players and a bunch of junior players. Daniel Gray and Jared Zac at Sea Island also coach a bunch of really good junior players.

Just looked up Jordan and he seems like an amazing guy with a great group of players. I'll have to dive more deeply into his teaching later today. Thanks for sharing!

I know he tutored under Todd Anderson who is the main guy at the TPC. Both of them used to be at Sea Island and moved over to the TPC a few years ago.

A few in the Coastal SC/GA Region, in no particular order.

Tim Cooke , Sea Pines (Hilton Head)Daniel Gray, Sea Island (GA) Ricky Sullivan, Bulls Bay (SC)Danny Stewart, CC of CharlestonI think IG is a great platform for teachers to show their stuff and for people to get a feel for who they are and how they teach - but have found that some coaches are just not interested in being IG famous. Its harder to find them, but if you dig a little bit in your area on who the top juniors are seeing you may find most are seeing one or two guys/gals.

If anyone wants to spend an hour watching an IG live video go check out @redgoat. He and Oscar Sachs go off on everything from ways people are coaching to using training aids. It'll only be on there for another 12 hours or so.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this but can anyone recommend good instructors / golf coaches for juniors in the Dallas Metro area. Looking for someone for swing / short game and practice plans to follow for a 12 yr old who is now playing a little tournament golf with NTPGA.

Would Highly recommend  Mark Maness or Sutipa Siewsurut  in north dallas  They teach a  lot top juniors and you can't go wrong with those guys they are solid teachers.

Do most states allow middle school kids to play varsity golf? I read about JB Holmes playing HS golf in 3rd grade but in AZ, kids have 4 years of eligibility and must be enrolled in the school to qualify.

In no particular order:

 

Jeff Smith- Teaches out of TPC Summerlin in Vegas.  Has an impressive stable of very good pga and college players.  

Dana Dahlquist- El Dorado.  Also a very impressive stable

Chris Mayson- Maderas GC-  Seems like everything he touches turns to gold with elite juniors.  I've heard he basically feeds D1 colleges with his students.  He really only sees kids who are at least 14 yrs of age and shoot 60's consistently in tournaments.  Essentially you already have to be really really good before he even sees you.  ?

Dana is great.  Saw him late last year and had a follow up for mid March when COVID shut down El Dorado (which just opened up for lessons a couple of weeks ago).
