Thoughts? Will the course will be wet? How about the weather? Also, 2 Masters in 6 months sounds like a pretty good reward for this quarantine.

This is the only major that I can see happening. It has the smallest field and every extra player brings with it an extra logistical problem. Qualification is the fairest and easiest - most players had already qualified. It's going to the latest point in the calendar, that is the most realistic time for everything to back to relative normal. Let's hope so, we could really do with a boost when all this is over.

seeing the course a different time of year is the most interesting thing I’ve heard in weeks. Play it brown and wave the flag on every hole and it would be a huge success in morale .

I agree. PGA Championship in August and U.S. Open in September seem very optimistic. (trust me, I hope I am wrong.)

It is Augusta. It could look like my muni (it won't) and it will still be awesome.

Weather here in November is perfect. All the courses around are in top condition as the Bermuda is still growing. The cooler temps will help the bent greens at ANGC and they will be great. They generally open in October and the rye is barely coming through, so I imagine by November 9th it will be in really well and look great! It will play much harder and faster on the fairway though and I would imagine some low scores! The wet season here doesnt start till December so we will see lots of run out....unfortunately my ANWA tix are of no use now.

The actual forecast is 63, 45, 48, 52 that week with overnight lows in the 30s

Certainly isn't going to look like the Augusta everyone knows

Accuweather has the average Augusta November weather as 67 day/47 night.

 

And it’s in early November so hopefully it could be even warmer.

 

Average October weather is 77 day/57 night.

There has to be absolutely zero risk involved for this to happen. Far too many people traveling from all over the world and if there's any doubt you're not going to see the players want to play.

I imagine they are factoring the ability to test all participants, caddies, course workers, media, will be possible. And travel will be possible.

 

If they can test the core people in the tournament/necessary to conduct and cover it, they can play even without fans.
