Previously I had hoped they'd just cancel the Masters for this year (due to other commitments in my life) and invite us all back in 2021. Now that the dates have been released I'm on board full swing!

I return from Myrtle Beach on Oct 26th after 8 rounds in 8 days and then back out the door 3000 miles south again for the one-off fall Masters.

Trade the azeleas for the beauty of leaves in red, orange and yellow?... heck yeah! Least I'll be able to take an example of the latter home with me as a souvenir.

I was at the course two novembers ago. It was actually on business, didn't play, but got a full tour of just about everything you could want. It happened to be on my birthday - which was fitting. The course was absolutely perfect looking - was pretty busy with member play that day. Can't wait for a fall Masters!

Gutted, no open. Cancelled til 2021....thought if the pga is going ahead in August surely if its safe the open can go ahead in August. How can you not fit in a major if its safe to do so.... Oh well, like someone said 2 masters in 6 months is exciting thou

The most beautiful time of the year to play here is September and October... so a Masters in Nov to close out the season would be incredible

I should be more clear about this.

Now the Masters tickets are special things and they were all purchased before the pandemic hit the U.S. And they will be honored in November, and I expect that the Club will be doing special things to accomodate their long-term patrons (almost all of whom have deep connections to the Club as family, associates, etc.). It may be a boom year for Masters tickets on the resale market.

With Michigan football (and I mention Michigan only as being representative of a much larger demographic), the time to renew tickets came up in the middle of the crisis. The Athletic Department postponed the due date by a month, and now they have created an installment payment plan extending the full payment over some months. (We already paid our "Preferred Seating Donations" which amounts to an annual seat license to allow us to buy the tickets.0

Now if you don't renew your tickets this year, you lose your seats (mine are prime seats on the 50 yard line as a result of VERY long priority status over decades). We are being forced to renew, under weird and uncomfortable circumstances, and I bet that all other major college programs are facing similar circumstances.

They should just cancel the season, or else make it purely voluntary to buy tickets this year, with no repercussions for future years.

yeah, the football thing is tricky ... well, not tricky ... they shouldn't be hitting ya'll up right now ... have a few relatives & friends in similar situations with bama/auburn tix ... but athletic ADs haven't given a damn about fans in 20 years, so it's not surprising ...

This could end up being a very special Masters tournament since it has never been played in the fall. Twice the Masters has been played in March so the tournament was played in near identical conditions compared to the normal slot of the first full week of April. While there may not be Azaleas and other flowering plants in full bloom, the changing of the leaves and the hues of red, orange and yellows against the green of the Rye/Bent and Georgia Pines will make an incredible scene. Add to this the anticipation of the tournament, over a year and a half from the previous and this should be a very special Masters tournament.

While true, I’d still a little miffed reigning champion in anything has a better ring than past champion. Further more the economics of winning The Masters with regards to players sponsorship opportunities will probably be greatly diminished especially when compared to next April’s champion. One of the golf publications did a great write up a few years ago (more than 5 I’d reckon) about the financial windfall from sponsors/endorsements that accompanies a Masters champion due to a host of reasons but the biggest is that the Masters was simply first, so marketing dollars hadn’t been spent/committed to champions of other majors.

Where do you get that? CBS is focused on AFC coverage, Fox on NFC. The Cowboys are almost never on CBS.

I doubt any Masters champion would be miffed. Being a Masters champion is a prestigious honor. The financial opportunities will still be there. Maybe even more so. This is an unusual Masters championship under unusual times. The 2020 Masters will live in the forefront forever.

For the Masters, yes they will choose golf. I am sure they would make a deal with the NFL and the other networks and switch out for another Thursday game. CBS will not jeopardize their relationship with AGNC even for the NFL.

I think CBS deal the the Masters is that they make zero profit on the broadcast. They do it just for the marketing/prestige benefits.

Whether it’s CBS or not, given the “institution” of Augusta, The Masters, the Members, if the Masters is played, it will be viewable for free somewhere.

The Masters will be taking place on my birthday November 14th. I will do just about anything short of selling one of my kids to get tickets for that Saturday round. This very well may be the only time The Masters will ever take place on my birthday and I plan on taking advantage.

Luckily I live in Atlanta, so I don't have to worry about a hotel or flights.

I am really hoping this happens. I think it will make this years event that much more special. While I generally can not stand the production that is as plastic and unauthentic as a barbie doll. I love the tournament.

Supposedly the winds are from a different direction at that time of year so to some extent it will be a new experience for all playing the event at the date. So the experience factor which usually seen as so important there might not be as important as normal when you consider all the other components which mean it won't play like it does in April.

I think you'd need to request a bet like that as I think it's unlikely they'd have odds listed for that. Haven't seen it.
