I had the sim max 10.5 as Iz7x. Meh didn’t like it. Got a sim 9 head and put the stick hzdus smoke green in it and it is great now.

Yah, add some loft. 1 click should be perfect. Have mine playing at 9.75 and it is straight with a little fall to the right

I just went to the driving range and really liked how the ball just jumped off the face. It didn't take long to get dialed in, which is what I thought. Today as I know I'm getting a late start due to my job but I'm not sure how people think this is a fade biased driver as on the course I was either left or straight down the middle. I still need to work on my swing but WOW! I had 2 of my longest drivers ever. I thought one was in the water as I had to carry the water at least 240-245 yds at leasts. I hit my 2nd shot straight but off to the right of the fairway. I hit that ball on the green as the hole was only 315 yds but water on the left side of the fairway. Walked up to the green and WOW there was my ball just past the water 20 yds short of the green. I'm 64 hitting the SIM MAX with the GD IZ6 stiff and I'm crushing it as if I was in my 30's. I even had 2 more drives that makes me think how does Taylor Made do it. Year after year they come out with a winner. Oh my irons were pretty sharp too P790 with Recoil shafts as my short game and putting need some work yet. Had a real good 1st outing that I wasn't even expecting to have as I only went golfing to get something else off my mind. I had to put my (boy) Hogan a Bengal cat to sleep this morning after 13.5 years due to cancer. Very sad day for me as life goes on I know.

My god this thing is long. I have an 8* SIM in a Ventus Blue 6x at 44.5”. Absolutely eliminates the left side and just hits rockets. Even outside of the middle of the face, it just eliminates spin, which is super useful as a high SS guy. Some drivers seem to just balloon if you are bringing big speed and don’t exactly nut it. Don’t see myself ever changing unless I have to make swing changes.

I currently game an Epic Flash SZ with a Diamana W 60g X shaft. Went to my local fitter to hit the GCQuad and see if Mavrik or Sim could beat it. I preferred the look sound and feel of the SIM so I stuck with that head and I was getting slim gains over my gamer. Fitter told me to try the Ventus Black 6x with VeloCore which I've heard a lot of good things about on WRX. I'm not much of a shaftoid, but this thing is changing my mind. VeloCore isn't bullshit marketing, I was getting consistently higher ball speed on toe side strikes which is usually my miss.

Needless to say, $758 later, I have a new SIM with Fuji Ventus Black 6x and love it. I tested it vs the standard Ventus Blue (non upcharge version) and Blue with Velo and the black was producing the most efficiency for my swing. I would also just add, the standard Ventus Blue felt nothing like any of the VeloCore versions.

Played five rounds with my new SIM Max driver. Oh boy - most forgiving driver I ever hit. It feels like cheating. And the sound is hot.

Sorry as I really need to put that last bit of info as I just know how hard it is to golf when you are so much on your mind and with all I went thru I was very glad I went golfing as I was very surprised how well this SIM MAX perform for me as it was my 1st time out on the course. The combo with the GD IZ6 shaft is very accurate and long

I have been getting along fine with the SIM, but I'm about to try out the Max in the coming days once my driver head gets in. The SIM can be somewhat finnicky depending on your strike location and its face is very shallow for a modern driver. I'm hoping I can tweak the Max with the loft sleeve and hotmelt to take advantage of the higher MOI and deeper face.

Sim and Sim Max are great drivers. I ended up replace my Sim Max with Sim, one of the main reason is the movable weight which help me to dial it in by able to replacing it with a heavier weight and also move it heel to toe.

Finally was able to get OEM Sim weights to get this driver back up to D2. I currently have it set up with one 10g weight in the heel and one 14g weight in the toe. Playing Ventus Black 6x at a half an inch short (45"). Immediately hit the range and I have to say, this is exactly what I was hoping this driver could be for me.

I absolutely want to eliminate the left side of the course, and this setup finally gets me there. My stock shot was a 3-4 yard fade and when I tried to make it go left it just was on a rope straight. I had to really set up for a draw to get the draw, which is exactly what I want. Can't wait to get on the course this weekend and see how it performs. Have Mass Am qualifiers next week and this thing needs to be dialed in.

Edit: For anyone wondering the head setup, I have a 10.5 degree head turned down to 8 degrees (to get the open face effect).

Oh yeah sorry, this shaft has an extension because I think it was originally cut to three wood length. And I said d2 but it’s actually D3 (guy weighed it in front of me and it was probably getting close to d4)

Curious what swing weights everyone is seeing. I received my SIM 10.5 with Ventus 6s at 45.25 and was worried SW would be low. I weighed the head and it is exactly 200 grams and SW comes in at D5. Does this sound right? I’m not complaining as it has been great for me so far. Much more accurate and longer than my M5 that I have struggled with.

I picked up the SIM Max with the stock ventus blue. I like the feel off the face but I don't think the shaft is a good fit for me, hitting it very inconsistently and driver is usually my best club. Coming from an Epic with a PX handcrafted hzrdus yellow. Usually hit it with a mid flight, plenty of control and it rolls out forever. Thinking of getting a TM tip on the hzrdus and seeing how that works out. Any thoughts?

I tested the Ventus Blue (it is not the real deal) in Sim Max and it was awful for me. Ended up getting Diamana, better ball speed and a lot more consistence, also bought a smoke yellow which is counterbalanced and kind of make the head feel too light for me.

I tried a SIM today, with the HZRDS Green in 6.5.. Had too low spin, I was flabbergasted, never had too low spin on anything I've tried before.

I consider 1400-1700 spin as too little, not enough. Was hitting it great, but felt the low spin was punishing me. They didn't have other shafts in 6.5 available, so I'll go for another fitting soon.

Slapping the ball around a bit, having loads of fun.

The Max is fantastic. After not being impressed with the SIM, I decided to go back and give the Max a shot and am real happy. Sound and feel are amazing, plus it's just easy to hit. Even the TM watered-down Ventus isn't bad (have the Blue 6X) - may even sell off my VeloCore version and just leave the TM driver at stock length and SW.
