Ping postponing 2020 Releases

Just watched a new YouTube video (guy is a Ping Dealer) who was doing a driver head 2 head and he said Ping was releasing a G410 driver replacement this year. Would like to see it but understand if they don’t due to market conditions....

Was hoping to see the new generation of the i500's. Curious to see what they will do to improve the sound & feel. The looks of them were perfect though. Definite 10 out of 10 in my opinion.

Heppler's are out. I rolled the Tom Cat yesterday at my local shop. Surprised that the putter actually felt nice. I was expecting a loud sound and hard feel, but not so.

Yeah, it’s weird. I contacted Ping about their release and was told they came out in January. Store here in Phoenix do not have them either.

I special ordered mine with a Nippon fixed length shaft. ZB3

According to Ping’s website the Heppler adjustable shaft is improved/stiffer than the other versions. I just didn’t want to mess with it.

We have the Hepplers in our pro shop. The adjustable shaft is much more stable. Feels more like a normal shaft for sure.

Was surprised when I saw the Hepplers in my local Edwin Watts.

Being a long time spider player I was stoked to roll the tomcat.

Not sure of it was the shaft or what but it felt HORRIBLE. It also had a high pitched sound that I didn’t like.

To each their own I guess.

Makes a lot of sense all things considered. Seems like lots of places are having huge sales at this point just salvaging what they can. Nothing beats the blueprints though ?‍♂️?

Wonder what all of this will do for 2021 and 2022 in R&D? If they are pushing out releases to next year that also pushed out any new R&D to the following year that they were working on this year, which in turn slows down new ideas they were working on. I know Ping has longer cycles than other companies- I was just speaking about the industry as a whole. If golf companies are laying off or furloughing people, that has to hit their R&D groups as well, which is going to limit innovation with less people working on ideas. Everything is going to have a trickle down on all sections of golf.

Any updates on Ping club production and delivery times on custom orders placed at the time of the plant shut down?

We were discussing this last night. Clubs, gear, balls etc all on a cycle. Cycle has ground to a halt. I am getting online retailers offering latest shoes and clothing at much larger discounts. With hundreds of thousands furloughed Golf gear isn't going to be a priority. Add in those of us who are playing are only taking part in social games, no comps so no pressure on scoring. And the elephant in the corner is where gear is made......

We're hearing they're waiting for the PGA Show for releases. I suspect most of the companies will follow suit.
