Shaft length: New clubs vs old

Old: Nike pro combo 2004 ish. Dri-tec grips 3-pw

New: Cobra forged rec irons 2018- mcc grips 4-g

Nike 3 iron is next to the cobra 4 iron because the degrees are the same, both 21 degrees.

I’m 6 foot 3.

I have an out to in swing path on full shots.

When I got fitted we added .25 inch to each club. That was to account for the cobra sensor. Looking at this, am I technically playing with the same length clubs as before because of the de-lofting of clubs?

My G wedge is currently 36.35. I feel really good with short shots with it. My wedges(54/58) hit the toe a lot with my current swing, was wondering if I make them 36.30, that would that help improve? And then also add another .25 inches to the rest of the irons?(not the G)

I like to play all my wedges the same length, PW thru LW.

Some OEM's change the length by .25".

I'm not sure what you asking about your irons.

You added .25" to account for the sensor, but you don't have sensors, and you want to add another .25"?

Let's say your GW is 36.25" for rounding purposes, then your PW would be 36.5", your 9 iron would be 36.75", your 8 iron and up you would add .5". That's Cobra's specs for your iron model.

Back in the old days, irons were the same length from 9 iron to wedges from many OEM's.

If you are hitting toes shots, might need a bit longer shaft?! @ 6'3'' you should be min. +1/2''. Try Ping's new Web-Fit to see what it comes up with. Great fitting tool!

I'm 6'2" and playing standard length irons, upright a couple degrees, EXCEPT for wedges. All of my wedges are the same length and lie angle, starting with my 45 degree PW. So gap, sand, and lob are all slightly longer than stock. It made a huge difference for me in terms of consistent contact when I made that change a few years ago. Before make this change I tended to be toe-y and felt like I was reaching at times.
