Trying to be supportive in these trying times so I will just say I very much appreciate and respect the courage it took to type that, even anonymously! Hey, I've got "I Think I Love You" on my iPod. Any music that touches someone is good music.

And I will confess, "SOS" and "Dancing Queen" have a strange effect on me as does "Mandy" - off to listen to a Wishbone Ash LP - it will cleanse me of that confession and get my head right!

I remember in HS when it wasn't cool to like certain musicians. Many of us became closer fans of certain groups. During my time it was The Carpenters, Barry Manilow, Air Supply, Christopher Cross, any Disco. I liked a lot of that music and also liked much off the "cool" music, too. I would never admit to some of the groups back then but today I can say I like what I like.

yes I must give a tip of the cap to Hawkeye because he said " Trying to be supportive in these trying times " in regards to my teenie bopper selections for Soulful voices, and that was a very classy move I felt. I was trying to be funny and with the times it just went over I believe all of your heads. My OB shot I see now. Great Dionne song Bob Cat and ESPECIALLY now with the world's current situation. These music threads ( and now oh my what 5 of them!!) make me smile too Bob Cat. You sir got the ball rolling in creating the very first one and I say give the man a prize. I think these music threads have indeed brought great enjoyment to many of us on the WRX. Robotdoctor I very much understand the peer pressure we experienced in liking or denouncing a band or artist to be cool and accepted in HS. That stuff was real indeed. Now I did hear a lot of David Cassidy, Andy Gibb, and Donny Osmond on the airwaves as a kid, but I was kidding when naming them as touching soulful singers. I did list some of my stand out voices in a thread a few posts up. I will stand by the selections and defend them dangit! lol

I actively look for live radio performances by artists on Youtube because it's hard to synthesize or alter their voice. Their true talent shows. My three favorites are Bruno Mars, Lizzo, and Cas Haley for sheer talent.

These kind of threads are fun and glad there are more of them right now - heck, I started a thread looking for pics in a different sub-forum because I was bored and reviewing some of mine and thought it would be a good place for others to share theirs if they were so inclined. Music, photos, stories - what the world needs now is love sweet love!
