Usps delays?

Hello everyone, I recently sold 2 items shipped 2-3 days priority USPS, first one was shipped last Wednesday then the other Thursday the next day but both items are still in transit so my question is, does COVID19 the primary issue or is it something else? Anyone else having shipping delays?

Yes. Everything I shipped in the past 2 weeks was delayed a few days at some point. Shipped some fishing line to Florida and it took almost 10 days to get there.

Same here. Some items get hung up “In transit to next destination” but eventually get there.

Yep, I bought a driver last week that was shipped on Tuesday USPS Priority and it still hasn't arrived. Tracking has shown "In Transit to next Facility" for a few days now.

With USPS's price increases this year, there really is no reason to use them as the go to for shipping clubs like in the past. If I was saving a bunch on shipping costs, I could deal with the delays, but there prices are now inline if not more than everyone else. Ive shipped about 10 items in the past month, all through UPS ground, was actually cheaper with the discount they offer online (Promo code EASY), and they all were delivered on time, no delays, and a few actual got there a day earlier than scheduled.

Massive delays here, and in combination with impatient ebay buyers has made for a couple nightmare scenarios. Both canceled purchases due to the delay, claiming the shipments were "lost". One just came back to me yesterday after 2+ weeks in USPS possession, the other might arrive this week. I hope you all have better, more patient and more understanding buyers than I ran into, and located in locations where you can't even use the items right now.

I ordered some shafts. Seller shipped them on April 8, USPS Priority Mail from MA. They arrived on April 20 in MI.

I've currently got four packages out there somewhere in the USPS network, all running between two and seven days late with no recent updates. I'm not surprised or upset given the circumstances and overall insignificance of these orders, but I would've paid a few extra bucks to ship UPS if given the option on a few of the more high value items.

Looks like UPS or fedex is the best option as of now until everything settles down.

UPS is not immune to this either. I had a package shipped from a seller in Ohio yesterday with an estimated arrival date of tomorrow and I checked tracking today and got the following message: "Due to global health events beyond our control, your package is being held for delivery at a later date" The guy also shipped out two other packages same date and mine is the only one showing this message so it may be hub by hub. For reference mine is stuck 100 miles away in Greensboro, NC...I have two other packages that are coming tomorrow one UPS and one Fed Ex and tracking for those two appear normal so who knows what is actually triggering this...

Certainly all three carrier networks have been and will remain affected to some extent due to the surge in volumes.

At least they’re giving that update and indicates to the buyer and seller what’s going on. With Usps it looks like it’s just missing somewhere or fell off the face of the earth. My 2nd package came back to me today and was on my porch without checking in at any of the tracking stops along the way until it showed up. Chicago to MI and back in 10 days. Could be worse though.

A great deal of packages sent via USPS, especially Priority Mail, are actually transported on FedEx and UPS planes. Not always the USPS fault when deliveries go off the rails. Of course USPS tracking regardless is still awful. Shipping by any carrier right now can be out of whack for many reasons.

The global pandemic is absolutely causing delays. And understandably so. USPS is going with less staffing (in part due to people being sick) and more social distancing.

 

I think we should be happy they are shipping as fast as they are.

You will likely notice increases in shipping costs as well. I tried to ship a 3 wood last week and USPS wanted to charge me $47 to ship priority from KY to AZ. I had entered my box specs into the website the night before and was quoted $16, which was what I was expecting.

If it’s over 6-6-48 the post will charge you more that is why u should just buy the postage off PayPal or make a usps account.

None here for me (Charlotte NC area). Everything I've ordered arrive on or before expected day. Just bought a new shaft on Monday, delivery said on on 23rd. Sure enough just checked the tracking # and it's out the door for delivery already this morning. Delays must be dependent on the area.

Same with everything else I've ordered through Ebay and shipped via USPS since lockdown started mid March.

Yes, nothing has changed in the 3 days since this thread was started. People need to be patient and realize their items will arrive eventually.

Took TWO WEEKS to move 300 miles in N. CA....after making a round trip 750 mile to S. CA!!!! LOL...

I am still waiting on another usps package stuck in S. CA since April 10th....yes the 10th....LOL....You can't make this stuff up.

I dropped off an Ebay return (with their label they provided). Handed it to the lady, watched her scan it in and it still shows "USPS is awaiting the package." Dropped off on the 17th and here I am on the 23rd still wondering if my return will ever make it to Ebay so I can get my money back...

I have a smaller package(Original mevo) that took off yesterday 4/22 with a ETA of Saturday 4/25 from Michigan to Los Angeles which I really hope is on time.

Shout out to @BirdieBob @rymacatthedisco Who’s packages were scanned into another dimension and stuck in the twilight zone.

Like others have said, the delays themselves are understandable. The crappy (if you even get any) tracking information is not. Not a good time to be an eBay seller via USPS. I suspect that person will get a lot of lost in the mail claims.

I wouldn’t count on it on time. There’s a great distance between Michigan and California, on top of that they are two of the harder hit states at the moment and likely have usps locations that are quite short on staff right now. FWIW my two problematic packages went to Detroit and San Fran from Chicago, so I’d temper expectations. They were both larger packages in clubs so maybe a smaller package will get through more quickly. ?

Unfortunately, I've had packages with tees, towels, headcovers, and a qtr zip delayed 5-7 days coming into the metro Detroit area. Just need to be patient, we can't golf right now anyways :(

Similar situation here. I ordered a club that was scheduled to arrive today. The tracking info was updated on Wednesday to say Monday was the new delivery date. Now it has no expected date and looks like the package is stopped in Atlanta.

Mine ended up coming a day later than originally planned. Tracking was odd because after I got my message about covid the tracking showed that it was going back to the sender via the same 2 hubs but ended up turning back around and showing up the next day as mentioned...I understand the delays and am not complaining just an odd sequence of events...
