Most Underrated Ball You Ever Played?

Recommended Posts

I was gifted a sleeve of Vice Tour in August and played that sleeve until I lost the last ball in October on a links course on a windy day.  I was using slightly used Pro V1's as water balls so as to not lose the Vice Tour🤣  Long and straight off the tee and enough spin around the greens that fit my game perfectly.

I also played the new TF Gamer.  Very nice ball.  For the money ($16.99/doz bulk - 5 doz min.) the Vice Tour is perfect.

Back between 2000 - 2005 I could buy a dozen of these for $9.99 at Oshmans Sporting Goods.....AWESOME ball...best feeling ball I've ever played.  Bridgestone then took over making them, and they were never the same.

I used to game the Maxfli DDH as well...nice ball.

BTW, I saw the Pinnacle Exception referred to earlier....I had a Cleveland rep swear to me once that Vijay Singh actually used this ball with Titleist Pro V1 stamped on it.

I am a professional golfer and have been playing at a decent level since I was 14 years old. I always considered Prov1 or Prov1x to be the best balls. I personally play the ProV1. However, I work at a golf course that is near a Cotsco so there is a lot of lost Kirkland balls on the tall grass. I picked them up whenever I can and try them out and I have to say I am impressed by how good these balls are. I am confident to say they are the best ball after Prov1s. The good thing is that even if you do not shop at Cotsco you can purchase these balls from used golf ball business.

I have a funny story happen once. I was playing golf on Thanksgiving in Wisconsin, yes pretty crazy! On the 6th hole I lost the prov1 I was playing, and found a Pink Bridgeston E6. I teed up the pink ball on the 7th hole and made 6 birdies in a row with it. It was a cold and windy day as you can imagine in November in Wisconsin, and this ball was so good in the wind, I could not believe it.

Looking back, I would have to add the Callaway ERC Soft. Not a lot of people play it but I found it longer and softer than the previous version of Chrome Soft with a decent amount of spin both on approaches and around the green. I am anxious to see how the newest version plays. Great ball at a little more reasonable price than the tier 1 balls.

This week, the PGA Tour is at TPC San Antonio on the Oaks Course for the Valero Texas Open. GolfWRX was on-site Tuesday to catch a glimpse into the bags of some of the world’s top golfers.

The field of 144 is getting ready to battle starting Thursday for the $7.7 million purse, with $1.386 million going to the winner. The tournament is also the last event where players can qualify for The Masters, just like Canadian Corey Conners did last year.
