What size Clubglove Last Bag should I get?

Recommended Posts

Curious for the opinion of any owners out there. I have a carry bag, dont see myself every owning anything bigger than a hoofer. Should I get the large or the collegiate?

I used a collegiate a long time ago and dont remember any concerns around size. Wanted to see if there were any large owners out there that thought it was too big.

Thanks!

Wood heads go in luggage. As do some of the balls. Who needs 2 prs of shoes? Golf bag only weighs 2.5 lbs. I kid you not: full set of clubs, balls, 1 pr shoes, snorkel gear and fins for 2, sandals,

I use to work for Club Glove and always recommended the college size if your only using a stand/carry bag

I have had the large and I have always used a carry bag. I think the large gives me enough room to throw in a few pairs of shoes. I always put my old clothes into a plastic bag and I throw it into the Club Glove after the trip too. You can never go wrong with more space.

Get the Large. That's the one I have. Usually just a carry bag (sometimes a small one, sometimes a larger carry) and it leaves me room for shoes, sandals, balls, hats, towels, wife's shoes and sometimes snorkel gear. All under 50lbs. Could I make do with the Collegiate? Likely, but the extra space comes in handy. It's been through 40+ airports and nary a mark on it.

I would recommend going to a textile store and buy some iron-on decals/embroidery to make yours unique. I have had 2 attempts by stupid people thinking it was their bag and try and walk out with it. Just because they don't look past it's a black golf bag. That and put a Tile in it and track it.

I have the collegiate. I have never had an issue with size. I usually pack a carry bag, a couple sets of shoes, various jackets/rain gear etc.

I understand that people usually think more is better, but you still have to store it, carry it and fit in a car, usually with a bunch of other bags as well.

As for ID in the airport, you can get multiple color combinations. Find one you can tolerate that is unique. Mine is black with the gold (copper) straps. Have never seen another one like it.

I use what is now called the Collegiate, and my 2015 Hoofer fits fine, with 2 pairs of shoes and my normal rain gear. I have to be careful even with that bag to stay under the 50 pound weight limit, if I had the Large travel bag I'd be tempted to fill it even more.

Based on the last two comments, I think the Collegiate is perfect. I am single with no kids so no extra cargo for my golf trips. Looking to basically fit shoes and maybe a jacket or two. I also currently have the Stitch SL1 golf bag and that is a pretty small bag.

For markings, I am going to order it through my pro shop and get my club logo thrown on there. Maybe add a couple patches.

Thanks all for the help!

Stitch SL1 and Collegiate for me. Our bags would absolutely be swimming in the larger size. Frankly, I’m surprised with the amount of things people claim to load into their travel bag. Im pretty sure that my full set, two pairs of shoes, rain gear, a kids half set and two dozen balls is 40lbs.

I’ve even bought an area rug in Mexico and added to the bag.

I have the size now known as collegiate and use it once or twice a year. I put my Ping Traverse cart bag in it with full set of clubs, 2 pairs of shoes, rain gear, a couple dozen balls, the stiff arm, and some clothes and towels to wrap the club heads with. Works great for me. I typically like to travel with the smallest bags that fit all my things though as I like to travel as light as possible.

Another vote for the collegiate, been extremely happy with mine, can't imagine needing anything larger.

This week, the PGA Tour is at TPC San Antonio on the Oaks Course for the Valero Texas Open. GolfWRX was on-site Tuesday to catch a glimpse into the bags of some of the world’s top golfers.

The field of 144 is getting ready to battle starting Thursday for the $7.7 million purse, with $1.386 million going to the winner. The tournament is also the last event where players can qualify for The Masters, just like Canadian Corey Conners did last year.
