Grip Question

Hey simple grip question for you guys. Do you guys think about having your right hand palm putting pressure onto/over left thumb on the grip? I never did this until recently from an article I read and just started to and it definitely feels more together now as in both of the hands...

If your right thumb base butts up to your left thumb in a neutral position your right hand is in the strong position. If your right thumb base is directly over your left thumb your right hand is in the neutral position and if your right palm is over your left thumb your right hand is towards a weak position. I do not like looking at as the weak position because in most cases used with a little opening of the club face it strengthens a fade.

yup, saw a video where kisner or his swing coach were talking about this. really helps get into a good position at the top imho.

Can even add a slight twisting together like wringing a towel

Another thing along these lines is to feel a address that you have a slight downward pushing - as though no club and wrists are extended and you are pushing down - martin hall has a video on this. Can still have relaxed elbows and do this. - to me it really helps me get width. - I have a gravity fit and this is the feel from it too.

i have very similar feels. twisting together until close to the top of the backswing and pressing down slightly with the butt of my left palm on the grip (am a righty) to keep the club head working up and around the body during the takeaway. pressure from under the right thumb/palm area on the top of the left thumb especially helps me prevent over-swinging when i stop feeling the twisting as much toward the top of the backswing and focus on the thumb/palm pressure, if that makes sense. i wish i had a better way to describe but i think we're talking about almost the same things. good stuff!

My neutral left hand grip is firm but soft enough to hold a birdie in my palm. WE do NOT choke the birdie. If I feel pressure its that of the lower 3 fingers of the left hand actually griping the club. I mostly use the reverse overlap grip for trajectory control, and stinger/punch shots with boring distance.

This video really helped me with the correct placement of the right hand. I for years was too strong with this hand and that led to pulls/draws. Grip is sooo important!! Most influence on the club face.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkWPFmbKqQg
