Video - Throw clubhead outward immediately.

Same drill in the martin chuck video I posted - #11. Also pretty much Justin rose preshot routine

ditto Rory drill advocated by AMG - speed up those arms.

I asked Martin this before but forget his response - red or green? It a New Mexican thing. I’m red but can do green - love me some New Mexican soul burger from Nexus brewery - damn their food is better than their beer. and when I'm really hungery I start of with a bowl of gumbo - goodness.

I haven't spent enough time with this move, but when I have, I've mostly tried #1 (Hackinator.) If you fire hard right from the top, there's a ton of initial early speed (a good thing) but you really have to make sure that you accelerate your arms commensurately all the way through as well, otherwise it's all wasted. Seems obvious, but you have to consciously move your arms faster to match the throw, you can't just maintain your usual tempo/arm speed.

Haven't read any comments but this guy is a Mike Austin swing proponent. I don't think any coaching advice is universal but I have worked with a coach which didn't mention Mike or any "swing" to mimic but he told me to feel like I threw the club away from myself very aggressively to start my downswing based on my swing faults, and it worked very well. I gained speed without extra effort, and combined with a better backswing really helped me to get my path more neutral. The next day I went and ayed Streamsong and probably struck the ball the best I ever had. The one downside is if you "half throw" or don't commit, you end up with a wide open face at impact.

For ppl who are serial handle yankers/pullers, I think this is a good feel to try and work into your swing.

"For ppl who are serial handle yankers/pullers, I think this is a good feel to try and work into your swing"

This whole discussion explains why I struggle with irons. The above specifically. I have a serious hold off/handle pull problem when it comes to a ball on the ground. No problem with driver/woods/hybrids off the tee or ground. The iron struggle is both places. I gave the feel a go with irons the other day and it immediately explained everything. I've basically been all pivot with a pull, then flip hitting irons. Massive power leak, no low point control. It's a very useful "feel" for someone in my boat. Seems to be worse the shorter the iron is for me. It's not as bad with 3,4,5 iron. For some reason the release feels natural with woods/long irons, but very foreign with short irons.

The days of pulling are done for me.

This release from the top does work and I have noticed an improvement in strikes (especially the irons.. which I was not expecting as I thought this was going to primarily help me with the driver).

I feel like I still have to figure out the timing of the pivot and throwing motion.

Does the pivot start a split second AFTER the throw begins?

Does the pivot start a split second BEFORE the throw begins?

When does pivot slow down.? I feel like I can get more zip if I slow the pivot near impact and let the arms pass.

Still trying to unravel the puzzle, but in general the throwing motion is a big PLUS.

I've been working on most of these threads today on the range. Malaska, throwing from the top, mixing in some David Duval.

But I think the similarity is getting the arms in front of the body.

Throwing from the top I try to lead with the rear elbow. If I start with hands I lose my angles to early.

Today I was doing the Duval head rotation to the target through impact. Don't know what it is about that but I was puring the hell out of it today.

I must have hit 500 balls today. Pretty sure I'm out of commission for tomorrow.

It's never been so easy to hit my 3-hybrid.
