Sellers Remorse!! Why did I sell them????

I am not currently playing them right now, but this is why I kept my JPX 900 Forged irons. I could be enticed to sell mine, but you probably would not want mine. They have KBS C-Taper Lite Stiff shafts in them. And I have been meaning to take the 7-iron somewhere to see if it could be smoothed out. I did something stupid a couple years ago, someone I got randomly paired with said to me why don't you move that ball out of the desert and give yourself a better lie. To which I responded, "No, I'm OK. I won't hit that small rock on my follow-through." Yup, hit it and now the 7-iron has a blemish on it. That's the only club that really shows anything significant. I am thinking I could take it somewhere here in Arizona, like Cool Clubs to see if they can buff it out.

Biggest regret - Selling my Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Newport 2 in flawless condition with bright red headcover and divot tool to a friend that had never gamed a Scotty Cameron. Now he's a Cameron junky, doesn't even game the putter I sold him and when I've jokingly asked him to sell it back to me I get crickets.

Didnt sell it, but I think my level of remorse qualifies. Club in question was a Taylor Made V-Steel 3W with a Graphite Design YS7+ shaft.

My driver started accumulating cobwebs after I got it. 250+ carry with a baby draw all day long. Started reaching par-5s for the first time after putting this club in the bag. It was money.

Lent it to a friend when I was toying around with a 16* Cleveland Launcher hybrid. My buddy skied a couple tee shots and then put a dent in the crown (likely in anger). And I never got the club back.

Still bugs me to this day. Every so often I surf the 'bay looking for a replacement...

I was going to post the same thing. I had a set that I had purchased used- 1 iron and 3-PW with the #3 shaft. I'm not sure what kind of person orders a 1 iron with a regular shaft. I sold them a few years later to a co-worker and have kicked myself for years. I did keep the 1 iron though. For a while I literally used to prop up the trunk of my wife's old Camry that wouldn't stay up. I now actually hit it a lot into my net in the backyard.

-I kind of regret selling my 718 AP2s right before the T100 was announced. T100 are great and look better at address but I do miss my AP2s since I played that line for so long.

-Also regret selling any of the older Nike clubs I had before they went out of business. Think I have a hybrid and 3 wood left over but gave the 3 wood to my brother so who knows if that's still around. Was planning to buy a full set of Nike clubs when they came out with a new release but instead they decided to go out of business so that hurt.

I had aquired a RAW set of 900 Tours on bst. They were only 1* up and I needed more. It was a lame excuse because I still kick myself to this day. Loved those irons.

The worst loss is a Bettinardi Half Moon Mallet Welded Slant Neck. Got this off CallTaylor who if anyone remembers was a great HO. Still talk with him. Anyways we would send this back to one another anytime it went cold on us. This went on for like 2 years. The two of us won so much $$ with this Bettinardi HMM. I hit everything with it and so did CallTaylor. But we were such HO’s that when we had a cold round with it we would get mad and ship her back.

Unfortunately one day I offered it up for trade and now 4-5 years later I regret it because this thing was the cats meow. I have had a few putters comes close. A Tour Issue Piretti CW Slantneck was another. Hit everything but because I am such a fkn HO I let that one go too.

IDIOT!!!!!

- Something that continues to go long off the tee in the fairway
- Something that is a fairway finder when needed and long
- Something that high, consistent and helps with par 5’s
-  Something to help with long par3’s and short par 4’s

-  Something metal, lots of them and go the gaps I need
- Something metal, 2x of them and helps me 120y and in
- Putters - limited rotation because I cannot afford misses

Golf is what you make of it.  Play grateful and accepting. We are all lucky to have it.

Rather than expecting lets all try and appreciate instead.
Treat people the way you want to be treated

This thread is like group therapy:

5) A set of Titleist 670 blades, which I took on a guys trip to Scottsdale. I played bad 1 out of 5 rounds, and sold them when I came home for something "forgiving."

4) A Designed by Ben Crenshaw putter, sold to fund a set of Nike Pro Combo irons which I also miss.

3) A fairway finder 915 D3, sold to buy some 919 Tours which I despised. Did I mention I hate myself?

2) A Callaway X-Hot Pro 4 wood with an 'Ilima shaft. It launched like a dream, and was super long. I have no idea why I sold it. Probably because it was "time to upgrade."

1) And finally, the one that keeps me up at night...Heritage putter. I do not care if the guy got in trouble for tour stamps, copyright infringement, or teaming up with Anakin to kill the younglings. DO. NOT. CARE. That thing was perfect. I would pay 5 times what I sold it for to have it back. Of course, now those putters are literally impossible to find, and Nick Reinke has apparently vanished off the face of the earth.

The only clubs I truly regret selling are a set of the Nike VR Pro Combos (4-PW). Sincerely wish I had kept them.

That being said, I am glad I went on the journey that I had gone through as I really love my current set. Definitely will not be selling these...ever.

That club truly is a unicorn. Recently re-added it to my bag. Its a crazy good club. I play a really windy golf course but dont get along with driving irons off the turf that much. RBZ Tour 3 hybrid is generously sized (=forgiving) yet low spin and anti-left. I can hit bombs of the tee, hit it into greens with a fade or run it down a fairway with a low draw that is unaffected by the wind. Luckily I never sold it even though I did not get along with it a couple of years back (simply could not spin it enough)

I hit into a net with a set of Wilson Staff "Button Backs". My 16yo baseballer likes them so much he games them instead of the Ping Eye2's I gave him.

I sold sets of Mizuno MP33, MP29, Cleveland 588 and Wilson Staff FG-51. I wish I'd have kept them all and hung them on the wall. I probably would have gotten the MP33's refurbed and be playing them today.

I play Ping 2nd Gen Anser irons now. Still have Gen 1. I hit the muscle back blades every year in our demo day and think I'd have a lot more fun hitting them. It forces me to lock my swing in.

Back in the day, I managed to get a hold of a Cameron Studio Design in mint condition - loved the feel and the way that it framed the ball. Took a break from golf for a few years and now that I'm getting the itch to play again it was one of the first clubs I looked for - no way I'll be able to find one for anywhere near the price I bought the last one for.

LH Nike Pro Combo Forged Tour 3-PW (2005-6?) First set of clubs I got fitted for 1.5 years after starting the game. They were responsible for my only high school glory win and best competitive season I ever had. I swapped them in the bag for Titleist ZBs in 2013 cause the design was cool and needed to make room in my small apartment. I have never seen a set come up again on ebay. Plenty of Pro Combo Forged, but no tour version. I don't even know the difference outside of the cavity badges, but I wanted those specific ones.

I finally found compromise during this COVID lockdown, a mint set of VR Pro blades 5-PW. As a lefty I miss Nike and lament their disappearance from hard goods.

My biggest regret was selling my Newport Buttonback. I got it new and used it every round for 4 years. I went through a phase and felt like I needed a “forgiving” big mallet putter. I kept my Buttonback in pristine condition and sold it for more than I paid new. Now it is worth probably $500 more than what I sold it for.
