My rangefinder came in DOA. Sending it back

Any chance it’s the battery they sent?  Did you have another one to try?

I’ll probably regret not getting the H100 for $56. That deal is gone for now.

It very well could be, but I didn’t have another battery. I still sent I back. The whole purpose was buying a cheap Rangefinder. The cost of a new battery right from the start would cost close to 25% of the rangefinder itself. I also regret not getting the H100

Mine came in today. I had read on Amazon someone put the battery that came with it in before removing the battery’s shrink wrap. I forgot and went to put the battery in and noticed it was a tight fit...that reminded me about the shrink wrap that was hard to notice. Took that off and reinserted. It powered up...it will be a few days but I’ll compare it to some more expensive units.

When I got mine, I stood in our front yard for like 15 minutes shooting distances to houses, stop signs, trees, etc.  My wife told me I looked like a creep but I didn't care   🤣

I snagged one of the $36 varieties. Battery door isn’t going to be an issue for me as I use the Stickit magnet wrap and it hold everything in place. I’ll try it tomorrow and see about yardages. I compared it to my PP NX7 in my front yard and yardages were the same. The vibration lock is good but the vibration motor is weaker. For $36 I’ll never complain though.

Update: See post above, I'm going to complain. Used the rangefinder yesterday. Its already gone back. The yardages are very consistent but I checked it against my playing partners and it was 5-18 yards off depending on overall distance. They had 2 Bushnells and a Callaway (Nikon). All fo theirs were the same and the WoSports was off. As an example we had a par 3 with a back pin and I was showing 145 and each of theirs was 137ish. Not good for a back pin. One a par 5 I was standing just behind the 200 yard marker and to a front pin I was showing 214 yards while theirs was in the 190ish range. The unit was quick and didn't have any issues with the locking function. May have just been a bad calibrated unit. And yes, I made sure it was yards and not on meters.

I took advantage of the 30% coupon an snared one for $60-ish. I mainly bought it so I would have two rangefinders. I often play with others in my family and we sometimes have to share the one I already have - which can be a hassle if we're on opposite sides of the fairway.

Anyway, it works great. Calibrates spot on with my older Wosport rangefinder and my buddie's Nikon and Bushnell units. Seems quick to lock on, too.

This one has slope, my older Wosport unit does not, which is a nice plus. The battery door is also more solid on the newer unit.

I've had my older Wosport rangefinder for 3+ seasons, and it's worked flawlessly. No complaints, so I hope this new one works as well for me.

Thanks for the tip on the 30% discount!

Thanks for the update.  Stating to wonder what’s inside these things, LOL.

Well, my LMH900 is being returned.
I took multiple readings of the same pin...it would lock on and give me 3 different readings, sometimes 8-10 yards different. And these were also inside 175 yards.
The search continues...

  • 1 year later...

Old thread but just wanted to mention that my H-111 rechargeable slope model is going strong after 3 years.

I bought it after reading some reviews back in 2019 comparing "amazon" models to the bigger name brands. Took a chance. Deciding factor for this one over a few others was it came with a red & black pouch. Everything on my golf bag is red and black so it fit in.

For the unit itself:

I usually take two or three quick measurements, rarely have issue getting a lock, and usually only if there's lots of stuff behind the pin (trees, buildings, people, etc.). I can't remember the last time I was outside of three yards of what my player partners shoot with their expensive units. That's accurate enough for me. Doesn't work well in the fog or driving rain...but not sure any laser would. Never really shoot other features like bunkers or front edge of green as some others attempt, so can't really judge the unit for that (I use my GPS app for that stuff). Never had a rechargeable battery issue. Stays charged for multiple rounds of use; also very little battery depletion when not being used. I do carry a backup battery pack in my bag for this and my phone (GPS app) just in case. Never had to use it for the range finder. Has come in handy for the phone!

Bottom line: Recommend it. Happy to have saved the money I would have spent on more expensive unit so I could use it to buy other golf stuff.
