MG SENIOR GOLF BALLS Longer?

I read the info on this ball as non-conforming due to it being 10-15 yards longer off the tee?

Has anyone hit these balls in just playing for fun as anecdotal evidence or do you know if there is any actual test data if these golf balls for seniors go longer or it is all just marketing?

Are the MG golf balls senior listed on USGA as non-conforming? Thanks,

I've played the ball. In my opinion, this ball is false advertising. It is no longer than a Velocity ball. Now, it wasn't a bad ball. Just no different than any other distance ball. Fakes news, lol.

I bought a dozen to compare to their C4 that I've used for years. Didn't find any distance gain and the senior ball was very clicky.

Off the tee, all golf balls pretty much go the same distance. I never noticed an appreciable difference.

Got the MG senior golf balls delivered to me this week and hard to tell yet if any longer as course conditions are still so wet zero roll. Carry might be a little longer but need more time and good weather to find out for sure.

Sunbeltgolfer you are right the MG does have a very click sound. Seems like the ball has an exploding sound when hitting driver.

The MG senior super hard cover reminds me of the old 1980's Top Flite "Top Rocks" /Slazenger/Pinnacle balls?

i found one of these and had it in my bag during a charity tournament. On one hole they had a setup where they had a trackman on the tee and it gave you all the stats on your tee shot. I used my regular ball first and got my normal numbers. We had extra time and I teed off again with the MG senior and the guy running it made a comment that the trackman must have malfunctioned because the ballspeed it was showing was too high for my swing speed. I didnt tell him that i was using a different ball. I didnt see how much faster it was or what the difference in overall distance was but maybe they do go a little farther. That being said, it might have been a 1 yard gain or something after all is said and done.

Found one of these recently. No distance increase. No spin around the greens as expected. Not an unplayable ball by any means, but it isn’t gonna have older fellas driving it like Rory.

I grouped up with two older gents two years ago. I grabbed the ball out of the hole for one guy and noticed it was an MG Senior.

 

I looked and said ah. Trying to get a few more yards eh with that illegal ball? He just kinda Looked with a wry smile.

 

His buddy caught wind of what I said and it was a ribbing the entire rest of the round.

Playing with older gents can be a blast. I played last summer with my granddad and one of his buddies. They were absolutely brutal to each other all day, then left with a “ see ya next time!”.
