T100S review

Looking for new irons. Being a picker hitting my 7 iron about 150, I am considering the T100S. Considering AMT White R300/S300 or LZ 6.0.

Been searching for reviews with very limited results.

Anyone care to share their experiences? Thanks!

I'm currently playing the T-100. Took a set of the S models out and tried them on the range. Same club except the S model goes about half a club longer. Both are great sets and I saw no reason to change.

Suggest the 5.5 LZ rather than the 6.0. I hit my 8 iron 150, and have the 5.5 in my AP2s.

Once it's safe to emerge from our homes, maybe checkout a Titleist Thursday and try the lineup of clubs. It's the best way to determine which model will work best for you.

If you've liked the AP2s in the past, I think you'd like the T100/s, but I haven't hit them yet either.

I am currently testing T100S and from only a couple days, I love the flight, feel of the forged steel and the ability to work the ball right to left and left to right. It has plenty of distance but no clicky feel like the distance irons. It has a nice soft feel on solid strikes. Forgiveness seems decent as thin shots don’t look like they lose much distance but I have only test 2 days. I am gonna test against Z785 and provide feedback.

If you like the look, have played something similar in the past and are just looking for a little extra distance, I dont see how you could go wrong with these.

I know this is an old thread but I am just curious why you recommend the 5.5 or 6.0 in the LZ? I am currently debating which shaft I should go with for my irons. From my point of view, they feel very similar to each with one just weight 5g less. Am I oversimplifying too much on my opinion? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Purely based on the flex of the shaft (6.0 = stiff, 5.0 = regular, 5.5 = in the middle).  The OP stated he hits his 7i 150 yards, so I deduced swing speed from that.  Assuming a good strike, someone with a SS that merits a 6.0 would be expected to hit their 7i a bit further.  I am an example of that - 7i is a 160 club for me, and I play the “in the middle” flex (5.5 in PX, R+ in KBS).

I currently game T100s 1 degree weak and love them. Find them more forgiving than my 716 ap2 and sleeker overall package. Feel is on par for me with anything I’ve hit including 919 forged and Srixon z785.

Seems the 6.0 gives you: more carry, less roll, less side spin, more spin, and higher trajectory....all positives for an iron.  Is this your 7 iron? Can’t see on the image.... Based on this, 6.0 looks like the winner...

I ordered a set and played for about two weeks.  For me Z785 went back in the bag....feel and forgiveness was better with Z...it could be the shaft but they ended up not being what I was hoping for

I have the T100s 5-PW, They are great irons! I have one caveat - with the right shaft for your swing.

These are T100 7 iron numbers. I think I will go back to the sim today and do one more test and ill give you an update. Thanks for your input!

Here’s the latest testing done with Project X LZ 5.5 and 6.0 with T100S 7 iron. I used Srixon Z-Star 6 for the test. Thanks for all the input!

I’ve been playing a set with AMT White S200 and have been quite pleased with the set-up. Solid overall iron. Based on your numbers above, I would just go on what felt the best to you. 
 

Don’t overlook DG’s in these heads. I came from MP20’s with $-Tapers and the AMTs feel really nice in this head and the lofts knock a touch of the spin off.

I currently play the DG Tour Issue S400 shafts! But man, by 13 or 14, I am dead tired haha. That 132g shaft is no joke. Great feeling shaft but it might be a tad bit too heavy for me. Couple that with playing a full set of 620 CB's, mishits are in the spotlight haha. When I hit the 5.5 and 6.0 Project X LZ earlier, they both felt great! Just having trouble deciding if they 115g or 120g shaft is best for me. Even though the 5.5 is Regular+ and 6.0 is stiff, they feel pretty similar! With that said, I feel like its going to be a coin toss haha. I figure I'd get the GolfWRX fam opinion before I place my order later this week!

You seem more consistent with the 6.0. Also, the 6.0 is a very "weak" shaft for the category. Howard Jones said in one thread that the regular 5.5 PX is stiffer than the 6.5 LZ. I think the LZ is phenomenal for people that cut the ball and want to tone it down. I play a draw though and have a lot of trouble even with the 6.5 getting these to cut. Feel like I have to baby it. I wouldn't be scared of it being stiff. Also, I don't like the idea of going from 132 straight down to 115. That's a big change and once you get on course you may find that your tempo starts getting too quickly.

PX 6.0 is Stiff+ and 5.5 is stiff in actuality - for what it's worth.
