Has anyone owned or tried Flat Cat grips?

I just bought a slightly used TM putter and it came with a Flat Cat black and green Flat Cat standard grip in like new condition. When I bought this I was going to change the grip to the one I normally use. To my surprise this grip feels awesome. The standard size is more of a oversize type at 1.37. Still feels good and I won't part with it. Has anyone tried the Svelte size at 1.23? It looks more like a midsize grip.

I have a Tak version on my gamer but it's installed sideways cause I claw grip. I haven't gamed it but I like it cause I can set my hands super fast and not fidget like I would with other grips.

Might install more on my other putters if it works well.

I had the svelte on my putter for a little bit. Felt good in my hand but overall It wasn’t for me but for the right person I can see how it can be a game changer.

Tried them but had much more success with the P2 line of grips (aware and clasic)

 

Not sure what it was about the flat cat but I just didnt get a long with them

How does the P2 Classic compare size wise to the Flat Cat Standard?

Flat cat gets bigger all around as you go up in size. The P2 just gets taller as you go from the aware to the classic.

FC standard is thicker but not as tall as the classic if i recall correctly

How about the Aware? Is this a midsize+ size? Seems to be some what the size of the Flat Cat Svelte.

I had the Tac midsize for a bit and really liked it overall, I tinker too much to have left it on, but it was solid and wouldn't mind going back at some point in the future

I have the Tak standard with it oriented flat side up on my Gamer. Like the tactile feel, but only have had two rounds on it.

What is your grip style like? I have a modified prayer grip with my thumbs next to each other on top of the grip. The extra width from the flat section has helped me feel more comfortable with my grip style. Not sure if it's been any improvement over the GP 140cc SNSR tho

My grip style is similar to the one Tiger uses. I may give the Aware a try. The only drawback is the price. Can't find anything under 30 bucks but it may be worth it. Has anyone seen them cheaper?

Slim and svelt are awesome. The bigger ones didn’t fit right in my hands. Flat side installed in line with the putter face and little crosshairs visible.

Had one for about two months, just didn't fit well for, feel was great, just awkward, so went back to a midsize Scotty custom pistolero...

I’ve tried them on demos. I’m not real picky about putter grips, but I don’t think I could play this one. Didn’t fit well in my hands. If flat is what I wanted I would go with the Flatso. YMMV.

Anyone bought flat cat original lately....my go to has been the Standard size, but it seems to have changed in the actual size compared to older version.  Seems fatter and shorter from front to back.

I tried one for several.weeks. I liked it A LOT for lhl. But I didn't like it as much with a conventional grip as I do a superstroke grip. 

 

The one thing I really liked about the grip was how it helped with the feel of "putt the handle". Basically no wrist involved in the stroke, just move the handle back and through.

I've used the Flat Cat Fat for several years, before Lamkin bought the company (and since resold it back to original owner).  As opposed to Justin Rose and others here, I play it as designed.  Flat Cat was designed to have large flat surface of the grip parallel to the putter face, so that your hands feel the putter face better.  To me, that helps me to monitor and maintain my putting stroke, as I can more easily feel if I flip the toe over a bit, or hold the face square through impact.  I prefer the Fat size grip, as I am less likely to flip the putter head through, and better stroke the putt.

Update on my Edel Flat Cat setup seen above. It's pretty much gotten the shelf and I'm going to be removing the Flat Cat grip. Reason being is the set up is still too heavy in the handle and I'm still all over the place with speed. I do like the grip, wish I went with something a touch smaller than the standard probably the Svelte. I would replace it but I can't get the right size/weight combo for the Edel and I have a stash of other grips I can throw on. I do like it for claw grip and may try it again later on just not now.

If you like the shape but not the weight, I would check out the P2 Tour Aware, lighter and still rectangular. Though they insert insert offset so they only orientate one way on the putter

To me the large oversized grips are sort of gimmicky and won't last for the most part. a putter grip should fit the hand comfortably and not like your trying to hold on to a telephone pole. I have large hands and a medium sized grip fits my hand just right, and I can't imagine putting with a large size grip. with this being said I think a putter needs to be fit to a person's hand size.

Had one, awful for claw grip. Got it pulled and sold.
