Im really trying to walk every time i play and the club i Joined is extremely hilly. Ive done it with a pushcart but it almost seems to be a bigger pain. I got the Caddytek and it left a lot to be desired. Seems the bag would fall off at least once a round. Im ready to jut try a Sunday bag and maybe pull a few clubs out. whats your experience?

I'll vote to carry IF the course is really that hilly. I don't like pushing a cart. I use a Stewart Follow at our course. I see no reason to use anything else, but our course is flat except at each green. Nearly all 27 greens are pedestals and very steep inclines. The Stewart handles them very well.

I hate pushing a cart up hill. On the level, okay, but up hill? No way. Carry!

Carry and make sure you only have what you need in your bag. I have a push cart but it stays in the car on hilly or soggy courses.

My course is hilly. Carrying is easier on a hilly course, if your back is up to it. I push because of back issues, so I push on my hilly course too. Up hill puts a strain on my back, but there is enough flat and downhill to offset. Gradual downhill is awesome as I just let the cart roll on its own. Having a good push cart is key. I opted for a Bag Boy Quad specifically based on the way it cradles my bag. The four wheels also offers stability on the hills. And it folds up compact to fit in the car. Lots of good options out there to choose from in multiple price ranges.

My course is very hilly. I do find it easier to carry but ultimately on hot days, overall I am less fatigued in my legs (where it counts) pushing. I find my shoulders and upper back feel it when carrying but my lower back feels it when pushing on hills. I guess its due to bending over slightly pushing. Ultimately I bought the MGI Zip and don't do either anymore.

I have walked almost every round possible in my 30 years of playing. I carried until this year. My back cannot take the weight of the bag with everything I want to have in it anymore. I will make it through about 14 holes and then it starts to affect my swing on the last few holes. So, I started looking at push carts. I bought a Clicgear 8.0+ and a new Ping Traverse cart bag. I will never go back. It has made my rounds so much better and more enjoyable. I can carry everything I need and not feel my back tight at the end of the round. Is it easy to push up hills, no, but I am only a bit winded after the hill. My back feels good when I am standing on 18 green looking back over my round while waiting my turn to putt out...

My course is really hilly, and I gave up carrying my bag a few years back. Now I'm using a motorized trolley, so I neither carry nor push, I just steer. For reference, I used one of those "hike tracker" apps on my phone a couple of weeks back. My bag went about 6 miles, with a vertical of over 800 feet (obviously up, and back down). For contract, I remember reading that at Chambers Bay the players had about 600 feet vertical. We have two holes where there is at least 80 vertical feet of uphill from tee to green.

I carried a lot towards the end of last season. Makes you think about what you really need in you bag and you are very mobile on the course. But I noticed, as others, it affects my flexibility and stability towards the end of the round- swings get choppy and erratic.

Pushing a cart uphill is annoying, my home course has three very steep inclines. But once I’m up there, I treat myself with a cold one I don’t have to carry on my back. Three beers a round is perfect :).

I have to push because I use jumbomax grips and they fit best in a staff bag. And it’s an awesome workout in the mountains lol.

I am 65 and walk 99% of my rounds, but I can no longer comfortably carry, so I use a push cart. I have played with only 7 clubs, and when I do so I will carry my bag. Regardless of which route you take, you will be getting some great exercise. :-)

I walk most of the time, and decided several years back that carrying on hilly courses is much easier than pushing a cart up hills. I strip out EVERYTHING that I don't need, including cutting down the number of balls I carry, assuming I can grab a few more out of my trunk at the turn if needed.

One thing I really have to be careful of is to not "pound the ground" with my stride when I walk and carry, or I'll definitely feel it in my hip sockets the next day.

I'll also agree that carrying is easier than pushing on hilly courses. In the beginning of the season, though, carrying 18 up and down hills kicks my ***. I'm playing lighter graphite shafts and only taking 10 clubs right now, so that helps.

My Vessel Sunday 2 should be here today. Going to take out the 3 wood and 4 iron, maybe even 5 iron. Course is shortish and i generally don't need more than a 6 for the longest par 3. I carry 4 wedges and probably don't need the lob either but the next time i play Im going to really pay attention to the clubs i use.

Little bit of club tangle but crap it’s small! I really like it though 12 clubs and it doesn’t feel heavy at all

Never had an issue with my sync bag coming off a clicgear push cart. Some bags work better than others on a push cart.

Push cart is easier than carrying on a relatively flat course. Carrying is easier on a hilly course.

With a push cart you not only have to push it up a hill , but you have to hold back the weight going down hill.

An electric trolley allows you to walk while it does all the work of moving your bag.

I carry as often as possible, and primarily use a Ping Hoofer 4 Series (Lite) or an older Titleist Sunday Bag.

If you are going to carry:

Bare Essentials Only in the bag. (Range Finder, 3 Balls, Water)Pull out the odd/even irons, which also helps spice things up if you are playing the same course repeatedly.If I have to carry my full 14 club set and the course is extremely hilly, I will use the push cart if available.
