T400 haters need your help

I hit the T400 the other day as I look for a set of irons. I am a high handicapper and hit a lot of brands and clubs: Apex, Maverik, Forge Tec, G410, G710, XXIO X, T300, and T400. Of them all the T400 was highest and longest. I would say it was the thickest, but liked the results. I have been reading a lot of reviews and there are many haters due to the low lofts. They are expensive, so need some advise either way.

Thanks

They're actually very good sticks. I hit them at the PGA Show and I was frankly stunned how far they went and especially how high, given the lofts. But the weighting fires them up in the air. If you liked the results go with it. Don't let anyone tell you different if they perform for you and give you want you want. If it comes down to price, then that's another conversation, but to be honest, you're right in that wheelhouse within $200-$300 each other. You do you!

I'm with @tbowles411. If they work for you, play them. Results are all that matters unless price is a big issue. My feeling is that you will always be happier with what you hit well, versus what others want you to have to be liked or "respected".

I wouldn't buy a club because this 7-iron goes further than that 7-iron. What matters is that the club that goes 150 yards, for instance, comes off the club at a good angle for you, lands onto the green at a good angle for you, and has the right amount of spin for you. It doesn't matter if that's a 9-iron or a 6-iron, get the clubs that produce the shots you need to play.

Bringing back an old thread.

I'm a beginner and have been playing the Cleveland HB Turbo irons for a while for their forgiveness, but recently got to hit the T400 7 iron, which I seemed to hit better than any other club I've tried so far. - Which I find particularly odd, since I usually have difficulties getting the ball up in the air, and would have thought the T400's loft would cause me more trouble than benefit...

I'm trying to figure out why I would hit this club better, since I unfortunately can't find a shop here that has a full set to test.

Am I missing something? Shouldn't it be more difficult for me to get the ball airborne with this club, which is more than a club stronger lofted than my HB Turbos?

Launch angle is determined by more factors than simply loft.  The shaft can make a difference, and the construction of the clubhead can make a big difference.  It could be magic, because I'm not sure exactly how its done, but I've definitely seen it when I've tried different clubs.

I had some Epon 705 and they’re similar to the T400. Super strong loft but still launch high. I couldn’t get over the look of such little loft on the club for the length/number. Didn’t look like it would get up in the air but they did. No performance issues for me, just didn’t suit my eye. The 400 short irons are absolute shovels but if that doesn’t bother you go for them. Performance first.
