KBS CT Tour putter shaft

Has anyone tried this shaft in their putter. Shaft was damaged in my Odyssey Protype, wanted to try something newer on the market. Was debating between this and the Strokelab shaft. Thanks for any input.

I actually just put a Stability Tour shaft in my Toulon Austin putter and really love the feel so far. Only rolled practice putts with it for a few days, but the ball stays on my intended line much more often. Balance feels good speed control very good, taking it on course tomorrow and was going to update anybody interested in results. Honestly should have gone with CT Tour shaft and saved bunch of money, but have been wanting to give Stability a try for a long time now.

I'm not a fan. It's too stiff for me and didn't give the feedback I desire. Played one in a Spider X for a month and then played one in a TM Soto, so I spent quite a bit of time trying this shaft.

I've played this shaft for a while as the stock option in my Evnroll ER5B. You definitely feel a difference from normal stepped shafts. I would agree that it appears to mute feel/feedback to some extent, but depending on your putter head and preferences, that may not be a bad thing.
Like @KevCannon , I just had a BGT Stability Tour installed in my ER5. So, we'll see how it turns out - I'm picking it up today hopefully. If you're changing shafts out anyway, it may be worth it to install something that actually gives you statistical benefits. The swingweight on my build isn't changing much at all, if any.

I have two of these in a couple of my Cameron putters and like them in both. I seem to get better feedback from this shaft than the stock offering

I recently put this in my putter. I really like it. It definitely feels firmer than the stock shaft I replaced. Might be a honeymoon phase, but I seem to have a better control/feel for longer lag putts with the KBS. Short putts feel the same to me. Just wish I’d waited a couple weeks to make the swap so I could have gotten the white version.

I have one on the way to replace the stock Sigma 2 adjustable shaft. Really looking forward to putting it in play.

When you consider the price point of this shaft it's pretty much a no brainier. I've been using to build/ convert putters to arm lock and even at it's raw length of 38" and with putter heads that are 360+ grams it retains enough stiffness. Great shaft.

I like the KBS shaft, would like to try their new "One Step" putter shaft they have coming out. Also I wouldn't be surprised if True Temper, Nippon, etc. release ultra-stiff putter shafts soon.

I have to say that I did not care for this shaft in standard length putters. Had it in my Spider X and felt it was too stiff. Had the same reaction when I installed one in a friends Soto. But, I recently built an armlock putter with a CT shaft and it's stiff enough to handle the 370g head I'm using. Very pleased with it at 40.5" armlock.

Just reshafted my Spider Tour and TP Juno with the CT Tour putter shaft and love it. Play them at 35.5" long and use a Superstroke Pistol 1.0 with a 50 gram counterweight. Both putters are nearly 600 grams total weight. While the CT putter shaft may be "too stiff" for a shorter setup, this a great shaft for a long and/or heavy build. The heavy head and grip keep my stroke smooth, while the shaft preserves feedback and stability. I have tried a counterbalanced setup with a standard stepped shaft and really didn't like the feel. With the CT putter shaft I think it is fair to say I am making one more long putt a round and have better distance control. Totally worth the $30 investment.

Any of the previous comments that were going to go with the BGT Stability Tour shaft have any feedback after putting it into play?  I actually want to do this for my dad.  He is literally the worst putter in the world!! ???

The big achievement with the BGT Stability shaft is that they got torque down to 1* to reduce deflection at impact. C Taper is going to be around 1.3* of torque. You are also going to get a softer feel at impact with BGT, due to the graphite handle section, and a firmer feel at impact with C Taper. Both will be more stabile and decrease deflection vs a stock putter shaft. As a side note, the Odyssey Stroke lab shaft is much higher torque around 3-4*. 

 

For your dad, I think the C Taper is a worthwhile experiment. At the same time a more stabile putter shaft is not a silver bullet. I read somewhere that the BGT stability shaft improves face control (reduces deflection) by 1/2* for a 10 foot putt. That's all a stability shaft/C Taper is going to do. Where you may find even more gains with you dad is experimenting with length and weight. I know the current ping lineup has an adjustable shaft. If he ends up going with a long build (over 35") try a counterbalance grip. If all of this fails, he may like an armlock. My dad picked one up and now makes everything inside 5'. YMMV

Anyone know of a putter with a .370 hosel? I have a brand new 31.5" shaft with that hosel diameter but no putter to put it in or know what putter actually uses that size.

Yeah what's the deal there? Seems like it came out for tour testing a LONG time ago. Maybe they had some issues with expanding production or something.

It is awesome! I don’t know about how it’s impacting overall performance,  but on heavier putters it definitely makes the club feel more solid. Most regular putter shafts are like 15 bucks anyway, for 30 it is a no brainer- especially if you want one of the different finishes they offer.

I put one in my primary putter, a Spider Tour. Used it for the entire season, and really liked it.

Found that on longer putts, outside 15,20 feet, it’s much more stable predictable consistent once I got used to the stiffness. It was the easiest stroke on greens running 12
 

However (and there’s always a but), 10-12 feet in, the lack of flexibility made for dead feeling putts. Think someone else reported a bit dead feeling, perhaps it was in the short range. Much more muted and not as crisp as the stock true temper. 
 

It’s a no go on the CT for me. 
 

And the CT butt is big, the grip is significantly bigger

I have them in two different putters.  One is a Scotty Newport and the other is a Cleveland HB SOFT 11s.  To me they feel much more stable, especially in the Cleveland.

Best feel with a putter I ever had. Love this so much. A major difference if you can believe that .

Finish is great ! Unsure if satin or gloss.....I'll look closer
