Hopefully Cobra is smart and does revolving or scambled codes so this doesnt happen again.

honestly though, even with this being a great price for new equipment, I don't think there is much meat on the bone to be worth a flippers time.

I've seen excellent to new Speedzone drivers sell for $240-$270 in recent days.

some of the shafts maybe, but I paid $175 or so for a Ventus Black to try. Street price for those seem to be around $215. So after shipping and fees someone could make $15-$20 I guess. Only item I can think of that would probably have some value are the new Forged Tec irons.

Its always been the blessing and the curse of liking Cobra clubs. You can usually get new releases for cheap pretty soon after release, but if you buy at new prices, you can get hit hard if you sell soon after purchase.

I was going to say essentially the same thing...as far as flipping is concerned, there just "ain't no meat on that bone." Yes, Cobra makes great clubs, but they aren't popular (from a retail standpoint, the demand and sell through is abysmal), and are discounted pretty heavily before they sell. Any flipper worth his or her salt aren't looking at Cobra to pad their pockets, even at 45% off of retail. Very few people buy Cobra at full MSRP.

To you and me, yes, making $10-20 on something isnt worth the time - but to them, it is. They flip Nike shoes from Burlington for $5-10 on ebay after fees.

To each their own. There was a point in my life where I couldn't afford golf clubs and the way I managed was to find great deals in different places and sell for a bit more than I paid. Allowed me over the course of 2-3 years to build a respectable bag.

The way I look at it, is if someone is willing to pay what they are asking, cool. Does it suck that those actions with something like may prevent it from ever happening again, yes. But to be honest, this is like the Lethal woot ball thing years back. Happens once, doesn't really happen again. (Although Cobra did have it happen with the Bio Cell line very similar to this).

The shoe dumps are totally different IMO. They are at a much lower cost, to where the flippers can acquire pretty much as many pairs as are available and then resell for 10-20 bucks. That difference times say 20 pairs that becomes well worth the effort. Even at 45% off, I doubt many people bought 10-20 drivers, or iron sets...

Knowing that it was meant for player family and friends, I'm surprised Cobra didn't cancel the orders once they realized the codes got out in the wild. I guess they wouldn't know who was valid and who wasn't.

Still, how hard is it to set up a separate portal with discounted items for friends and family to log in and purchase instead of non-unique codes?

Just glad I got my F9 with Ventus Blue and hybrid. Even with the discount, I can't imagine being able to flip those for more than I bought them for.

Or... just don't use codes that are so easily guessed. Random generated code would limit their exposure. If one code leaks, it doesn't set off a cascading problem when people try re-creating Tish Allen's code. LOL.

I would like to think that if Cobra thought they had an order from a flipper, like buying 5 or 10 items the same or same but different shafts or whatever that they would cancel it.
