How long was the lead time on orders for the driver? Website shows the order is in status “items picked/in assembly”. Can’t imagine putting together a driver takes much time.  Head+shaft and grip.

I know that Proto drivers are the hit item and have the fastest turn time.

I mean they should be right? There is nothing to the “production” portion of the driver.  Hope it comes next week

So played my first round with the Camo Ventus Blue 6s Saturday.  Man what a difference a shaft makes.  This thing is point and shoot.  Unless you just put a god awful swing on it, it goes where its supposed to.  All of my drives felt so much more solid in both distance & dispersion (side to side), I didn't have any balls that faded or draw...just went where I hit them.  I did block 2 and pulled 2...but even those balls went straight.  I'm not sure if its "longer", colder temps and "fall/winter" has set in at my course...but it was just as long as before with better feel/direction.  So glad I took a chance and bought the Ventus for this driver.  I know now that I don't have to look for a driver until this one is DEAD....and thats the first time I can say that in my 8+ years of playing golf.

Congrats. Sick looking setup. Would go well with my Ping Camo Hoofer bag.

Two guys in my regular finally asked to hit mine after seeing vast improvement in my driving after getting this setup.

What is your swing speed to go with the ventus s? I’ve got the same head coming this week, looking for a shaft combo. Thx

sorry, quote function didn’t work, question directed at eddie above

My SS is around 102/103 warming up and closer to 107/108 once warmed up. I’ve been told by a few fitters that I border between stiff and x-stiff but I usually end up in a stiff or stiff tipped 1/2”-1” depending on shaft.
This one is straight in and is perfect as it is.

That makes perfect sense on Big Ed’s SS. I am 100 mph at the 6S Blue was just a hair stiff or maybe if wasn’t as lively as I am

used to. Amazing shaft thought.

Again, that combo must be just so good.

It’s funny you say that, because just holding the club and doing the “waggle test” it does feel stiffer then a traditional or others shafts I’ve played, but once swinging it, it’s just perfect.

This afternoon before leaving work my golf buddy was commenting on my drives from Saturday and he said, “you  didn’t hit it bad at all, I think you lined up left early on expecting to play a cut and hit it dead straight everytime and once you changed your target line it was point and shoot with zero turn”.  So it wasn’t just me seeing that either.

Still waiting on this thing.  The wait is killing me.  The order still says in assembly.  Waiting on golf clubs, while total first world problems, is the worst.

Just finished my fitting.  Hit irons and drivers.  Amongst the irons, started with the Gen2 0311p and a bunch of different shafts/flexes, then the 0211 and honed in on fewer shafts, then the 0311xf and back and forth.  In the end, I hit the XF slightly better than the 0211, which were slightly better than the P, which were all in line with my gamer (Apex/Apex Pro combo with C Taper Lite).  The problem is that the fitter said the C Taper Lite is terrible for my game - it's a low spin shaft and I'm a low spin hitter.  We had trouble getting 7 iron spin to cross 5,000 at 81-82 mph and high 160's carry distance.  C Taper Lite/Apex was high 3/low 4's mostly with the occasional high 4's.  I ended up with Elevate Tour's in Stiff, soft-stepped and 0211's.  The fitter didn't disagree, but was trying to guide me back to the 0311P's, simply saying that while the numbers say one thing, the 0311P is just a better club if I invest the money.  I hemmed and hawed, but didn't do it.  He agreed that if I can hit the sweet spot consistently, like I was doing today, the 0211 is a bargain for me.

Moving to drivers, I hit mine (Cobra F8/Aldila Rogue 110msi), then the Proto with different shafts (fell out of the sky for me), then the Proto +, which was better, but my gamer defended itself and in the end, he acknowledged that there was no advantage for me to buy.

This is what generally happens with me - I go to fittings and unlike other people, I find I can't get much improvement from equipment changes.

Good stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Just shows how good the 0211’s are and how they can stand up against way higher priced irons.

Ah gotcha, I have a sister in Franklin very close to “Forrest Crossing” or whatever it’s called now.

KP is a cool course, better to play it in Spring Summer as it’s usually in better shape then. Sometimes the Tee boxes get a little beat up, and greens too especially in Fall.
Crosswinds in BG is a cool city owned public course that is always in good condition too.
But the course to play in my area is Dale Hollow Lake State Park, a little far from you, roughly 3 hrs, but it’s a top top course and always in Fantastic shape.
Also 3 really nice private courses in BG (Oldestone #1 or 2 in state depending who you ask, Indian Hills and BG Country Club), all have to have a member get you on.

Question: the weight in the bottom that is heavy was supposed to have the white dots.  I don’t have one with white dots. Is it the one that is installed in the front already with back dots? Can yall see in that pic?

Mine was the same, painted black instead of white. If you take the weight out it’s on back of weight.

Oldestone is SUPER nice. I played it 1x a few years ago, and having been on the supposed #1 course in State (Valhalla) but not played it, I can say Oldestone is definitely my choice.

Also, the “PXG” setting on the shaft adapter is the flatter setting? Correct? That’s what I was hitting in my fitting I can’t remember how to get to flat setting.

They seem to have started with this as the plan:

5g - no paint fill

10g - 2 dots filled

15g - 4 dots

20g - 8 dots

The 2.5g weights had no paint fill.  And the original 15g weight I got with the Proto X+ has white dots.  My Proto X had black paint fill - the black paint fill is hard to distinguish.

All told I have 50 of those weights and there is no consistency to what they have done.  White dots with a plan would save you from having to pull out 6 weights on a Mini Gunboat to see what is in there, but I guess their plans changed 🙂  Even the back of the weight will not tell you what it is because the material is most likely tungsten on the 15g and 20g, and the 2.5g, 5g, 10g are something less dense - Aluminum or Steel.
