Love the way the PROTO sets up.  No question both beautiful and thank you again for sharing.

I was very happy with the XF.  But after I got the proto there’s no doubt I prefer how it sets up.  I’ll be interested to see how they compare and will report back after I’ve had some time with both.

Just put my Sim Max on Ebay and ordered the Proto X, cant believe how much these are in the UK now, pricewise it was a straight shoot out between the G425 LST and the Proto X, decided on the Proto X, by the sound of it probably going to be a month before i get it though

Not looking to hijack or anything but was looking to place an order online and their website says $60 to ship woods or irons. This can’t be right can it?

Should be $30 for a single club and $60 for multiple clubs - yes it is a screw but it is what it is 🙂

Ok thanks. I don’t have a problem with $30 but $60 was gonna be way too much.

Price drop to $135!

The Fairways are $145 for Gen2.  That has to mean that the next gen FWs and Hybrids are close.

Bit random but seeking some thoughts from this group!  I just picked up a set of 6-P Gen3 0311T (super stoked) but am debating what to do in the 5 iron spot.  I’ve always used a 4 (17) wood or 2 hybrid and 4 hybrid (21-22) followed by a 5 iron.  With the current sale, I can pick up a 5 hybrid or a Gen 2 0311 P to fill that gap for the same price...seems like a no brainer, get a 5 iron but at the price you can snag this amazing hybrid for, is that a better route?

Anyone use a 5 hybrid (24-26 in loft) that could provide some input?   Does it look odd with that much loft?

You are channeling my thoughts and actions 🙂  I did this same thing this year.  Bought Gen 2 irons and then thought I would try the Gen 3 irons and try a 5h, well the fitter said go with the 5i and I did but I had already bought a 5h and 6h as test clubs.  The hybrids are ok and they work, but I have always been a long iron player and I FAR prefer the 5i over the 5h.  The hybrids do look weird with that much loft, but...

I think I have some mental damage from having never had hybrids that I did not hook the crap out of...  The PXG hybrids are great and I do not hook them.  I prefer the 5 iron

Chalk one up for 5i.  I have the Gen3 P irons btw...

I have 6-PW in Gen3 T and 19, 22, and 25 Gen2 hybrids all opened up 1.5 degrees and it works seemesly. They do not look weird and it's sooooo easy to hit. Steady performance out of all the hybrids. Go for it!

I don't think so, and my 5H is about as easy and accurate a club as I have. It really depends on how finnicky you are about that sort of thing.

I have the 0211's 5-G and just ordered the 17 and 22 degree hybrids yesterday. I'll play with the lofts on the hybrids to get it all dialed in.   I'm going from playing 2009 era Big Bertha Diablo Edge hybrids in 21, 24 and 27 lofts.

Really wanting to try the proto driver, especially at the price. but no where to demo. Currently play ping g410+. just curious if I would notice if any difference. Anyone gone from a ping driver to the proto? Thanks

I had a 410 LST 10.5 for a large part of last season and just picked up the proto x+.  I haven’t hit it outside, just once on trackman.  The differences would be that the proto looks a little more compact and deeper faced. It looks better without the turbulators (but that’s opinion) and the sound is much more like a SIM, deeper thud. The moveable weight on the proto definitely works more than the ping to help with misses.  I would say the ping is probably slightly more forgiving but it’s close.  Spin is similar if I put the weight in the front of the proto, but I’m also not a high spin player.  Both have the flat setting which I love.  The ping was good on the course, I won’t have the chance to use the proto outside for a few more months, so Trackman only.   The Ping was just consistent.  The Proto has a crazy hot spot and you’ll know it when you hit - it feels different and the ball feels as it jumps off the face.  I will say the proto is a good 10 yards longer than my XF on average, but they are different heads designed for different things. The XF is basically a cleaner better sounding 400 Max.

For those who placed orders this week, what kind of build start dates are you getting?  For my 17 and 22 degree Gen 2 hybrids I have a build start of 2/1.

I wouldn’t go by that as I’ve placed several orders and they usually ship within a week, week and a half at max.  Both my recent orders have been delivered within 2 weeks of the order despite it saying near 4 weeks when I ordered.

Im debating going back for a one and done putter - if anyone has any feedback on that?!

One & Done is an awesome putter.  Getting the specs right is big IMO for any putter.  I hated the alignment aids on the One & Done at first and when I got it, I have loved it - I do not even see it - it just works for me - I think that it will work for many players because there is something on the leading edge, the big circle in the cavity and two lines on the sides of the back section.  It has a nice height face and is very stable.

About 10-12 rounds in with the Proto+ amd it just keeps getting better. Last 3 rounds I have it paired up with the Bridgestone 2020 B X and it is a straight bomber... for a 102 SS. Lol.

Still loving the 20 gram weight in the toe. This thing is just sooooo good for me. Like I said before, my playing  partners keep commenting how far I am hitting it. Loving this driver!

In 2020 I had in order...Sim, Sim Max D, Sim Max, fit for PXG Gen2 0811x, Sim Max, PXG Gen2 0811x.. then fit for the the Proto+..... it’s not going anywhere!!

I gotta remember to move the heavy weight where the miss is.

I had it in the low spin setting and loved it for a round but lost a few out to the right.   So I moved it to the heel side to try and turn it over some in round 2 and I hit them dead straight. I need to move it to the toe or back to low spin and leave it for more than a round.  With as little as I’m playing practicing because of weather could just be open faces and bad swings.
