I feel like Mavrik is callaways “Off Driver”. In that Epic GBB was great, great look, great sound. Great pretty much everything . Heck they coulda just kept making that for 5 years. But then what are gear heads gonna do with their lives? Haha

then comes Rogue, ugh, ewww, something wrong with that. But ok some people like it. It’s new, the name is catchy. Let’s be different. It’s like a Gremlin in cars.

Then Bam Epic Flash, That is Callaway saying “Yep Epic GBB was perfect, so let’s add flash and drop the GBB!!” POW!! Everyone goes crazy over these. Again almost a perfect driver. Get this one and you’ll be good for 8 years!!

now Maverik... ugh. Back to the New Gremlin. It’s paint job is even like a gremlin. Every pro golfer and their mother can’t wait to see this go.

and at some point another EPIC! Could be Epic Flash 2.0, Epic Epic (yes so epic we say it twice!). Epic Glacier Peak, Epic Rocky Mountain High. Who knows but it will be a straight laced driver. It will do everything perfect and be awesome.

I have owned every one of those. I think lumping this line in with the Rogue is doing it an injustice. I think this is actually a better club than the OG Epic honestly. Sounds and feels better. More forgiving. All while looking pretty good behind the ball, especially without the speed step things.

I disagree regarding the epic flash. The sound was garbage and the line on the crown hideous. I'd always go Mavrik over Epic Flash.

Mavrik might be the best sounding -stock- driver available. Sounds absolutely amazing.

It’s going to perform very similar to last years EF Triple Diamond model. The write up on the fairway USA site says the CG is specifically placed to produce moderate spin. I’m assuming spin will be between the regular SZ and regular Mavrik. Although, I didn’t see much difference in between those two when I tested them.

Well, rather than wait to see if I could get it on Callaway's site with a trade-in, I ordered through Fairway Golf. Don't know when it will get here. But, what the hell? I have been waiting for this one for a while anyways.

What can I say? I never claimed to not be a club ho :) I miss the front rear weights of the SZ. And, I like the footprint of this over the regular SZ.

what about the footprint of the this is different than the regular SZ? I thought the size and shape were the same but they changed some internal weighting for a different flight and spin?

From what I can tell, it's the same shape as last year's triple diamond. Looks like they're both 450cc. But, the shape is not as rounded.

neutral to fade bias. Lower spin than standard mavrik. But not as low spin as the sub zero. And the sound is way better...

Is it on other sites besides Fairwaygolfusa? I was looking and couldn't find it on any retailer I could think of. I even sent an email to discount Dan's and was told they weren't going to be offering it at all.

Just select Callaway under brands and then custom Mavrik and you will see it as a selection.

I did the same. Ordered one from fairwaygolf this morning. I called DD yesterday and they said they have no access to them. I do find it weird that the only site you can order one from currently is fairwaygolf. Hopefully, we get what we actually order.

I knew it would be limited to certain accounts. Hopefully, fairway actually has access to them. Worst case, we get a refund and buy elsewhere. Surprised Dan's won't have it though.

Guessing they jumped the gun on the embargo. Question is, when will we get them?

I wonder how in the world Fairway Golf can take pre-orders on this driver before its up on the Callaway website or any other retailer? Seems strange to me.
